Depends on how we define "rude".  If someone says something dumb or reaches to pet my dogs without asking, I don't call that rude unless I gvie them an explanation and they still do it.  For example, one thing I get a lot is "oh that CANT be a purebred shepherd!  It's way to small!  My [insert distant relative here] had a shepherd and it was 120 lbs."  Usually, once I explain that Kenya IS purebred, has several of the most famous and successful working line shepherds in her pedigree, that she is a show champion herself , and that poorly bred GSDs are often way over sized (the working GSD is a medium sized dog), they get the picture.  To me, it's rude when they still insist they are right, even though they've never HAD a German Shepherd themselves.

I get people who insist that Jack is not a purebred lab because he is a little smaller than most labs and his coat is wavy (most labs around here are ginormous and have shorter coats.  I actually had one guy insist that he was part rottie....

The rudest thing I encounter with Jack is usually people feeding him without asking (sorry-I consider that rude).  Most of the rest of the stuff is letting their kids grab him without asking, which is just stupidity on their part IMHO.

With Sally, we've gotten a few "Don't trust/go near those dogs" comments, but generally those are made by people who I don't want near my dogs anyway, so it works out.

We had a woman shopping in a pet store pick up Ginger without asking, and cuddle her to her faceTongue Tied Now, Ginger doesn't mind, and has not an aggressive/ space protective bone in her body, (though she did look more than a little bewildered) but many dogs would NOT appreciate this. Yes, I also think my dog is very cute, but please don't scoop her up without askingIndifferent

I had taken Kujo and Lillie to our annual town festival in October this year. Usually it rains every year on that day but this time it was nice and pretty. Not too hot or cold. If It had been I wouldnt have taken my 2 year old daughter or the dogs. Kujo sat in the stroller with my daughter and Lillie walked beside me calmly, on leash of course.

I had this woman come running up to me saying " would you walk on this black top barefooted?" I was shocked at the question cuz like I said it was nice out. Not to mention I was standing on the sidewalk!! I would have walked on the blacktop barefooted if I didnt want to step in anything. I just ignored her as she went on and on about me being a bad owner.

Then of course since Kujo is a little itty bitty dog as I walked around everyone was wanting to pet her and hold her. But even though my daughter is only 2 she wouldnt let anyone hold her dog. And Kujo is her dog. I just had to ignore everyone otherwise I would have never moved from one spot.

But I knew what I would be getting into taking Kujo. Just didnt know I would be getting lectured by someone I have never seen before about Lillie walking around on the "oh so hot blacktop."  And I promise the blacktop wasnt hot and like I said we were on the sidewalk.

Oh by the way  Californiaglock  I love Max's blue eye. He is adorable.

I rarely meet rude people - just some "not too bright" ones once in awhile.  I met a lady once who stared at Max in sheer terror and asked "Is he one of those mean pit bulls that's going to try to rip my face off if I walk past?" Nope.  Not mean.  Nope. Not a pit bull.  Nope. Won't try to bite you, but if you get close enough he'll try to lick you to death.  She had obviously never seen a pit, because I really don't see much resemblance here.

Yeah, we get rudeness a lot with Rosco, typical pit bull prejudice stuff that makes my head spin. If I think the person may be open to learning something I will start up a conversation, if not, I politely excuse my self from the conversation.

There are a lot of stupid and unkind people out there.

Though not my dog, my grandfather sat in his truck and told me Apollo (pit bull) was going to eat me. He yelled that the dog was "tasting me."

My grandfather is not the prime example of all things proper and nice, however.

Well, let's see - just this Thanksgiving weekend I had my two tiny dogs mauled by a child.  When my one bigger dog finally got sick of her running up and grabbing his head, he did a low growl.  I finally told my in-laws that I was having no luck keeping the child (a niece) away from the dogs and they were getting upset and their response to me - "Oh, you can't tell a child to stay away from a dog.  It's like candy to them.  What's wrong with your dogs anyway?"  Gee, I don't know, they are 3.5 and 6 lbs. respectively, they have been pretty tolerant and they are sick of being mauled by this child who has no boundries.   To them I should have just let her do what she wants with the dogs because she is a child and children want the dog.  I'm like WTH???  What if these were big dogs?  Would they still think that she should continue grabbing the dogs head when it does a low growl?

Then, I go to the park with them (to get them away from the chaos) and see this idiot whose smallish (terrier and bichon I think) have already once before acted hyper/aggressive to meet them and wrapped their extender leashes around my bare legs, causing me to fall down in pain, I dropped the leash of my little one and she ran in terror into the street!  Well this time, I hide around the corner to make sure his dogs are leashed before I let him see me.  They were, so I come around the corner and as soon as he sees me HE LETS HIS DOGS LOOSE!  They come tearing over, I lift my dogs, but am struggling because I have two dogs and a treat bag and poop bag all tangled up.  I am yelling at him to get his dogs and he tells me "Oh, they are friendly" as they are jumping all over me barking at my dogs like crazy and running from him when he tries to get them.  They are way bigger than my dogs, completely out of control and he is a complete moron.

I tell you, I am just so sick of idiot dog people I could scream!

Oh yeah, and I get people insisting my dogs are Min Pins or Manchesters.  Whatever, I say, you're obviously the expert.

.... rude people seem to breed faster than nice people!

They are everywhere, I have more stories than I care to count, but hang in there!  Some days it seems like "they" are winning, doesn't it?
