Hi,
One of my friends bloodhounds got loose last night and still has not come home. Found this forum and thought I would get your feelings about it. At the moment she does not know exactly how she got loose, every thing is secure. There are a couple possibilities. Her first thought is a drainage pipe, that is around 16 inches diameter, but I dont think she could fit, and if she did she could not go very far, but she thinks she could have fit through it. She knows her dog better than I do. The second is a bit of a hole under the fence, again I am not so sure she could have fit under it. I could be wrong, I have never owned a dog.
The thing that has her really tore up right now is that it was very cold, 10-15 degrees last night, and it is around 30 at the moment. While I am not an owner or do I ever intend to own a dog, I dont like seeing animals hurt, I am a fish person. And with the temps last night, I am afraid I am assuming the worse, not knowing how resourceful or how they handle cold weather this breed is.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how we might proceed on possibly tracking her down some way? I have toyed with the thought of putting her male one on the leash and see if he can track her down, but he is not the brightest one in comparison to the female. I think he would just enjoy going for a walk.
Anyways, thought I would just post here and see if I could come up with some ideas. Oh, these are full grown adults, the male is quite abit bigger than the female if that helps any. TIA
