I dyed colored streaks in one of my kids hair once - just for fun (this was before purple or green hair and lots of piercings) I did it with food coloring and it washed right out. Lucky for me it was out before the social services worker arrived. Someone had reported me to them.

As long as it is safe it dosnt bother them. Dogs dont think like humans as in *Oh my I cant belive they dyed me this colour*, if they did then wouldnt it be just as bad to dress up the toy sized dogs.

Just for clarity, dogs do NOT know what they look like. They are not embarassed of their appearance. That's a human trait. They *do* get embarassed or upset when people laugh at them, and are mean about things, but it's not because they know they look silly. I see it all the time. I *tell* people not to laugh at their shaved bald dogs. When the dog comes out, if they tell it how beautiful it is, it will walk with confidence. If they laugh and point, it will fight the next time, starting at the door.

I think Emma would look fantastic in hot pink, with neon green toenails. If I ever get it figured out, she will be pink to her mask, and natural from there up. I'll probably clean her feet, and leave them white, too. It'll be lots of fun, and she'll LOVE the extra attention.

I am absolutely sure that Bevo would love to have his hair dyed another color.  He would just love the extra attention!  Sadly, I don't think that dying his balck/tan coat would work out very well.  Oh well, we will just keep the clothes coming.

I agree and that is why I would never dye my dog pink or blue and take it out in public where other people would laugh at it.  (Of course both my dogs are black so I doubt I could dye them anyway[8D])

Zhi loves when I am done shaving her (not so much when I am actually doing the deed - I'm still not exactly skilled). She prances, she dances, she holds her head high - I've told her, "you're so pretty, what a pretty girl!" so many times after grooming that she just expects the attention now! She comes from a long line of top show dogs (N'Co) and has that "sass" and loves nothing better than to be stared at and talked up nice.
