Sorry I had to laugh a little.  There are times when the dogs get treated better than my kids.  The kids complain about it, and I remind them that the dogs listen, and follow directions better than they do.

I had an experience just before Christmas where a bunch of kids were playing tag in the grocery store.  Nice.  But my dogs aren't allowed into any store but Petsmart/SuperPet/Insert-Pet-Store-Name-Here. 

If my dogs behaved the way some people's children do we'd never be able to go anywhere in public...

I had to work this morning, but I promised half of my dogs a trip to petsmart after work.  I took Bevo (he always goes), Shooter, & Schatzi (both dachshund pups) to petsmart.  In the store there was this woman with two boys who were holy terrors, to say the least, and she did nothing to control them.  They ran all over the store jumping at people's dogs.  I had both doxies riding in the cart & Bevo by my side and the monster kids seemed to steer clear of me.  On my out of the store & to my car, I see this woman still trying to coral the boys in the parking lot.  I get to my vehicle, that has a bumper sticker that reads "My Doberman Pinscher is Smarter Than Your Honor Student", & this woman suddenly starts yelling at me about how her kids are honor students & how insulting my bumper sticker is to them.  I listen to a 2-3 minute rant/lecture, until I can take no more.  I gently point out that my doberman is sitting politely in my vehicle, while her monsters are throwing & busting cans of cheap dog food all over the parking lot.  I then can't resist pointing out that my dog must be smarter than her kids, because he knows exactly what cans are & that they usually involve food, therefore he would never in a million years, waste them like that.  At this point, she starts to turn red, & clinching her fists & I thought she was going to hit me.  Then she just turned and stormed away.  I can't believe that just because my dogs are acting better than your kids, you have the right to come & yell at me.
