My dog is hilarious!!! Anyone else's?

After Willow pee's she almost always kicks and stomps on the ground.  But, sometimes she will kick too close to the fence and kick something into it and scare the hell out of herself.

Last night my DH washed one of my nicer sweaters and instead of putting it in the dryer we put it on a towel and laid it out flat in our bedroom.  This morning I woke up and there she was just wagging away using it as a bed.

Roxie has a love-hate affair with brooms for whatever reason.  She thinks it's out to get her or something.  I'm sure it's because I wasn't paying attention and swatted her with it in the kitchen.  Since then, she is obsessed with it.  I usually have it between the dishwasher and refrigerator, but she has to investigate its status if it's out where she can reach it.  Sometimes I'll have it leaned against the counter or in a corner somewhere.  She'll sniff and nudge it, causing it to fall and make a loud smacking sound.  She runs away like a baby and then turns around and barks at it.  It cracks me up every time.

Gosh where to start on the funny stuff my guys do… greyhounds are the silliest dogs ever so about ½ of their waking hours (which actually only accounts for about 6 hours a day since they are also the world#%92s laziest dog…) are spent doing absolutely hysterical things.  Some are much more difficult to describe than other so I will just name a few:

Right before we go out on a walk, 80 pound JJ JUMPS straight up into the air and then in mid air does a full 360, lands, jumps straight up again and does another 360…and will do this usually 7-10 times in a row….  I had to remove all of my furniture from my family room so he would not injure himself with his antics and sometimes I laugh so hard I almost pee my pants![sm=rotfl.gif]

JJ also likes to “punch” things so when he is angry at a toy or really excited to see me he will actually “punch” me with a front paw.

Both dogs are expert “tattlers” and will tattle on the cats when they are getting into something they shouldn#%92t be.

They also like to help me play pranks on eachother and their favorite is when I hide with one of them when we are out on a walk and when the other one and dh comes by we "pop" out and scare them.  It is totally evident by both dogs reactions that they LOVE this game. I swear my dogs have a sense of humor and they totally "get" that what they are doing is funny.

That's funny about the broom thing.  When I was growing up our GSD used to attack the lawn mover and the vacuum.  He never drew blood however, but those vile machines definitely knew he didn't like them.

We have a robotic lawn mower that drives Gracie nuts! She runs up to it and barks and tries to bite the rubber bumper! Tookey barked at first, now he just gives it a wide berth.

Gracie also likes TV, especially "Sesame Street". Today she watched the Purina Dog Challenge and really liked watching the agility portion. She slept during the doggie diving section, I think it was too much like a bath for her tastes! Tookey will also bark if there's a doorbell on TV, other than that he doesn't pay attention to it. We had a dog when I was growing up that used to look behind the TV for other dogs too.

Sophie makes me laugh all the time!!!One time jake was laying down on the couch and he farted a rather loud fart he woke up a bit startled and then turned around to sniff his butt[sm=rofl.gif]

Fergie is 17, has two teeth left in her head, weighs 6 pounds, and fends off the other three dogs in the pack as if she was a Fila.  Now that's hysterical. [;)]

I think our dogs know when we enjoy something...and they try to repeat it at different times to get the desired result.  Xerxes will do silly things all the time- when I'm trimming his nails he'll give me that PH smile and then get all excited about things.  When we go up the stairs to the condo, he will pause at each landing then when I say "GO!" he'll sprint up the 6 steps and wait at the next landing.  When at the top, since he's faster than Gaia, he'll pounce on her.

My dogs don't watch TV or pay any attention to the sounds on it, and both fart proudly (especially when they're stretching and their butts are right in your face), but they still do some wacky stuff.

Marlowe is a non-stop laugh-riot. He's very vocal and he grumbles and moans. A lot. He grumbles when he's comfortable, when he's uncomfortable, when he wants something, in is sleep, when he scratches himself. Actually when he scratches himself he looses all control of his vocal cords and he just whines and moans and has a complete freak out. After I brush him, he jumps about 3 feet straight up in the air and has to run zoomies around the house. Ditto for after a bath. He also likes to have the "stationary zoomies" rolling around like a complete nut on any bed or couch that is handy. He also likes to head-butt you and rub his head all over you like a cat.

Conrad is less of a comedian. He's way too dignified. But he too has some weird vocalizations that always make me laugh. When he's excited about something but is getting impatient with me about being slow, he makes all these bizzare sounds that are somewhere between a whine, a growl and a howl. Sometimes he says "aroo" and sometimes "woo" and also sometimes just "arrrrrrrrr". We have whole conversations like that. He says "aroo!" and I say "really?" and he says "woo!" and I say "Oh!" etc.... Every now and then he kind of loses control of it and will go into a full-on wolf howl: "Awoooooooooo!" with his mouth in a perfect "o" like in a cartoon.

Houndlove's comedic dogs made me think of something my Isis does.  She's a GSD and vocal anyway, but when my husband slowly massages her head, she literally moans with pleasure.  She's so obviously lost on some altered level of pleasure it'd be embarrasing if seh were human!  One of these days I have to post a video of it.

Diego loves to watch TV. I once caught him watching the computer screen saver also..haha. He's such a ham...he loves to instigate trouble with his big sister. He is always biting her tail to get her to chase him. He steals my slippers every day too...he's just too cute to get mad at though.

LMAO!!! What characters you have Cressida!!! that is so darn funny...crazy hounds ...they make the goofiest noises!!

Greyhounds rarely bark, but that is not to say that many don't have their vocal moments making all sorts of crazy sounds like they are actually having a conversation with you...so I can totally see Marlow and Conrad doing that! [sm=rofl.gif]

Many Greyhounds like to make a sound that is known as a "roo" and it is the funniest thing to watch them.  My current greys do NOT Roo , but when we get together with our greyhound walking club group we always start the walk by a person making a "roo" so that the dogs get started rooing.  JJ loves to join in with the dogs but doesn't realize he isn't rooing...it is a 1/2 bark, 1/2 roo sound that makes all the other greyhound owners laugh hysterically at him...meanwhile he stands there so proud of his efforts!  [sm=lol.gif]

Yep, we can have conversations and even vocal arguments. When Flem realized she was big enough to climb on the patio chairs, she used to get on the one right in front of you and vocalize her disagreement (usually to complain about Spip "not playing right" [;)]). We have worked on that since since we did not want her to be a "social climber".

Penny has a thing for brooms and vacuums, too. She hides behind chairs and under beds and then ambushes them as they go past. My vacuum cleaner has scratches all over the head. It was really funny to begin with, but now she gets put outside when I have to sweep or vacuum. [:)]

She has a strange relationship with my hare, Kit. He adores her, but she hates him. Her hatred comes from a moment when he was very little and still trying to work out who was who in this new and scary world he was in. He seemed to find Penny's shape a little more familiar than mine, and one evening when he was feeling hungry, he nuzzled up to her belly and started looking for a teet to have a suck on. Penny was so mortified! She ran away and hid under the bed and ever since then she snaps at Kit whenever he gets close enough to touch her. [:D]

Pyry cracks me up because he has super sensitive skin. You just have to stroke a hand down his back and he goes weak at the knees, quite literally. It's ludicrous. If you brush him, he twitches and you can watch shivers run all the way down his back. Sometimes he stands under a table or chair and scratches his butt on it, then he'll bark real loud as he does it, because Pyry feels like everyone should know whenever he's doing anything out of the ordinary.

Jill is just a nut. I don't know where to start with her. She rubs her face all over your legs. And she thinks she can still fit under your legs when you're sitting down. She has to force her way under there and you have to lift your legs up to let her through, but she still thinks she fits and it doesn't matter how determined you are to keep her out from under your legs, she gets under there eventually.
