I like the smell of sage burning and the drums at the powwow.

I like my "welcoming committee" nudging each other out of the way to get to me when I walk in the door at night.  It's the happiest moment of the day when I get to greet them again.

I like "hay breath" on my cheek.

I like the smell of pine needles, fresh cut hay, and horse sweat.

    Here's another "like":

Right now, DH is asleep in bed with ALL the dogs curled up with him. Even the new dog and big ol' Balto. [:D] He and Balto are both snoring.

That really makes me smile. [:)]

I love having friends over and playing with dogs.

I love my kids, that they are so smart and try to do what's best already. I love that my husband puts up with me. [:)]

I love the funny noises Ted makes when he sleeps (he's the most vocal BC I've ever had).

I love it when Maggie does the happy dance at mealtime. Every day. Like it's the first time EVER.

I love watching my dogs do what they love most - work. I love watching so much that I forget what we are supposed to be doing and don't have the gate open or the feed ready in time, oops. Then I love how Cord, Ben, and Doug just look at me like "DUH! Someone needs retraining here and it's not ME!"

I love that Patrick now calls Rocky "his" puppy and Rocky is giving him the confidence to try training dogs again.

I love wrapping my arms around the Maremmas and burying my face in their coats and smelling how nice and outdoorsy they smell (how do they stay so clean?). The kids and I just finished reading Chronicles of Narnia together and I think of the descriptions of the children drawing strength from the feel and smell of Aslan's fur - it's just like that.

I love weather, and trees, and mountains, and stars, and the moon, and sunshine that helps the grass grow and doesn't scorch it, and rain - I LOVE rain and storms - but followed by sunshine, too. I love watching my sheep graze and knowing it's helping the grass grow stronger, and the grass moderates the weather and filters pollution, and how it all works together.

I love that Zhi lets me share her bed at naptime. [;)]

when my husband acts like a retard. I just can't stop laughing. (He does it on purpose)

The use of the word retard when used as a 'derogatory joke,' is pretty insulting.  My son IS mentally retarded.  That is what he is.  When someone uses those words in an attempt at humorous insult, you are insulting a group of people.  We don't think it's funny, it's hard work and my son is a wonderful kid.  I can't even begin to know what's funny about mocking them.

I don't mean to come down hard on you, but ignorance is sometimes pretty hurtful.  In my youth I used the word retarded wtihout giving it a thought.  I didn't mean disrespect and I'm sure you don't either.
