My New Year's Resolution early. What have I done?

My New Year's Resolution early. What have I done?

I have to make my New Year's resolution early this year. I must stop going to the shelter. My monthly donations need to be sent via my husband for the tranquility of our house to remain. I also need to block Petfinder from my website.

As many of you know, I went to the shelter last week to ask about the blind gordon setter. After discovering that he was going to a foster home, I dared to look at the cats they had up front. The shelter has their cats displayed right up front. I am a cat person as well as a dog person. Heck, I am a furry animal person. Lo and behold, a calico kitten caught my attention. The shelter told me that she wasn't available until the next day. They open at 10. I figure to myself end of story to this kitten. My son has an appt. at the same time that the shelter opens.

That night at dinner, I relay my shelter adventure to DH. He starts making noises about how we could have 1 more cat and that we haven't lived up to the promise about Motor to our 3rd son. Sebastian was after a kitten named Motor during the summer. We told him that if he finally potty trained and had no accidents for several months, we would consider getting him Motor. BTW, Sebi is 5 in 3 weeks and I know that I am the caretaker of Motor and our other cats and dogs. I kept saying that I had an appt. for Hawke in the morning at the same time the shelter opened, so I wished to end the conversation.

You guessed it folks!!! Despite having an appt. at 10, I ventured to the shelter after the appointment and adopted Motor the same calico kitten. Tomorrow, she comes home. I am now thinking, "Oh boy."

So, I am now beginning my resolution. I am not going to search through Petfinder and when I donate to the shelter, I am sending my husband instead. Also, if he brings home someone, I can blame him.

I had to ban my hubby from going there a couple years ago because he would give me a call every couple weeks with OH they have a beautiful new JR here.... yada yada yada.... OMG!  As some of you know, you can really only have so many JRs in a household unless, and sometimes even so, they have grown up together.  You will be a better person for it...  Now to keep myself from going.  SIGH

I have a beagle/jack russell mix and SHE is enough for me. The name Bubbles suits her just fine.

OH I KNOW.  As they say, you KNOW when you have had enough (or even just your household)!  Two is enough for us!

I had to quit going because it made me too sad, and I wanted to bring every animal home.  My resources are limited, but my love for animals is not!  That tends to become a problem.
I have to agree...two Russells is enough for me right now!  Two in a one bedroom apartment!  But, I get to play with all of them at my mentor's house, so that makes up for it!  Eventually, when I have more space, I will have more!

JEEZE LOUISE in a 1 bedroom apt?  WOW!  They do keep you moving, don't they?  I love them tho.  I don't think I would have purposefully gone out for this breed but somehow they do grab your heart with their intellect and their goofy antics!  [:D]

Their antics are amazing. Watching Bubbles play with our pekingese, Shannara, is really funny. Especially when Bubbles can jump onto our bed from 4 feet away. I have also seen Bubbles run across the edge of the couch just above Shaun while they are playing tag. I had no idea what personality Bubbles had until a week after I adopted her.
