seat belts

Zoe sits in her outward hound car seat.  You can adjust the height.  She likes to see what I am doing more than outside, but she is strapped in.  It was about $20 at Petsmart.

Thanks all for the info. Think we will try a booster seat and see how it goes. Pictures are wonderful!!

It's not very safe to just crate your dog in the car as so many do. If you have to stop suddenly, dog can be flung very hard into the side of the crate. And if the crate isn't secured, dog and crate may end up flying out through the window or into the driver's head. Doggy seatbelts are great invention.

Dogs, like small children should be in appropriate car seats with restraints. I use a booster seat like others pictured, and a harness which doubles as a lead attachment. I walk Lexi with the harness as she has a small neck and pulls. When I show her the harness with the lead, she's ready to run. The seatbelt slides through the back of the harness, buckling in the booster (just like a toddlers booster seat). She is secure, can see, can't climb in my lap while I drive, can see out, is very happy, and most importantly safe. I know she won't become a projectile (could kill the driver, front passenger or herself) in an accident. The down side is the harness creates matts in Lexi's hair which need to be attended to. Nothing's perfect!
