Dogs on a plane!!

When I was a kid our dog almost died in cargo from KY to TX, except he went to CA and a few other places in between and no one bothered to feed him or check his water either. I don't remember what airline is was, and it has been many years, but I have seen very similar stories that occurred in the present time. I remember reading somewhere about incidents per airline, and who's got the best track record, but I can't remember where, but if you search for it I'm sure you could find the info.

Airlines are supposed to report pet deaths and injuries now.  Check out the [linkhttp://www.aphis.usda.gov/ac/pettravel]http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ac/pettravel[/link].html page - they should have the link to the airline reports.

Wow, this thread brings back memories! I remember when my dog went through something similar—he was super picky with his food and suddenly stopped eating what he used to love.

What helped was switching to a different protein (we went from chicken to lamb) and adding a bit of warm water or unsalted broth to make it more appealing. Also, cutting back on treats made a big difference. Sometimes they just hold out for the "good stuff" if they know it's coming. Patience and consistency really go a long way!
