They are not that common in my area. Most people don't even know a SBMC when they see one let alone a brindled BMC. This shelter I am volunteering at is let's say... ignorant of breeds specifically, cause I have seen them tag a BMC as a pitty mix because of the broad head. Well, I hate to tell em, there are a lot of dogs out there with broad heads, so does that mean they are all pitty mixes?? No of course not. I am dealing with the and I don't mean to disrespect anyone by saying this but "Red neck mentality" or "The good Old boy" syndrome. They have not caught on that BMC's come in I think five different colors. A lot of them that do come into our pound, are not able to get back out because they have put a lable on them as either pitty x, pitty, or BMC's.
If ignorance is bliss I want to know why more people aren't so happy.

No exotics at my local shelter. They are all Lab or Chow mixes.
All of the workers there appear to be teenagers. They just don't know. Maybe I should tell them about the "catahoula" trick!
