Clothing question

Our family pet, Angel, is a Rottie/Dobie mix. She weighs about 70 lbs and LOVES sweaters or blankets. She curls up in what I call her "roly poly" ball and just snoozes away. If she's cold, you can actually see her shaking. She can be iin the hosue and still cold, so we put blankets on her and she is just in heaven. She loves it. Ash on the other hand, who is an ACD and weighs 40 lbs, tries to get it off. I never dress her up, but she does have a raincoat I use when we walk in the winter and she will wear it as we walk, but the minute we're in the house, she's trying to get it off.

I don't think dressing your dog is silly. IMHO, I do think painting their nails is going too far. I also don't really like it when I see a dog totally dolled up. I mean like, WAY out there. Hair ties, dresses, nails painted, etc. Especially when it's a big dog. Just my personal opinion though. If someone is taking the time and money to dress their dog up like that, I can only assume they love that dog and are hopefully taking proper care of it in other areas. You KNOW those dogs are being groomed properly though! [:D]

These posts about dogs not liking their sweaters reminds me of a previous gryhound I had named Gumby. She was very hard headed and one time we were visiting family in the mountains so we put her raincoat on her becasue it was beginning to rain. She wouldn't walk around or anything and kept looking at us with this disgusted look on her face. We kept telling her to "go potty" and she would just stand there glaring at us. She finally turned away to go potty and we realized what the disgusted look was from. . . the 2 straps that were suppose to go across her thigh area to keept the raincoat in place, had slid up and were giving her a wedgie. From the back she looked like she was wearing black elastic thong underware! [:D]

i will never forget that image. . it is forever ingrained in my memory of her!

Zoe shivers in like 70 degrees.  She has sweaters and a winter coat that is waterproof because she also doesn't like snow or rain either.

I've been making clothes for my dogs for a little while and I've recently set up a web page to see if other people like them as much as I do. Check outhttp://www.mrstewie.com to see our hoodies, shirts, dresses and even kimonos.

    Hope to hear from you!
