Standard Poodles and Schnauzers are larger, low-shed dogs. Wheaten terriers are low-shed dogs usually medium sized, I think 40 to 50lbs. I know allergies are a big consideration but in terms of being able to live in harmony with your dogs I urge to think about other breed traits like exercise requirements, sociability, etc. These are important considerations when choosing a breed!
I'm allergic to cats and my experience with cat allergies is that every cat is different and there is no way for me to tell the severity of my allergy just by looking at a cat or the length of its fur or how much it sheds. I've known cats that I can pet and hold and be fine... and then with other cats all I need to do is walk into the house and my eyes puff up. I think the best idea is to go a shelter, meet the dogs, select one (or two or three) that appeal to you and then (if the shelter allows it) take them out to play for a bit, pet them, see how you react. Or else... invest in Claritin. [
