am i being too picky?

See, if they were previously good, but have gone downhill, I'd grab some time to speak with the management and say, "Hey, did you know your employee stinks, and that combined with your poor restocking is making me consider another store."  Perhaps there is something going on in the business and they're letting someone run things.  I mean, this IS summer time - maybe all the GOOD people (or the owners) are on the rotating cycle of vacations, so only Joe Cruddy with no vacation hours is the only one left.
 
Management/owners may not have any real clue just how BAD it is to their customers, unless/until someone speaks to them about it.  I'd give them a chance after a conversation like that.  If their reaction to the conversation was crap, I'd say... ADIOS!!
