Liver treats. Much like Glenda's.
I alternate between chicken or beef liver, the garlic, oats which I grind up to make into flour form, sometimes i will add some extra whole wheat flour, and i will add some veggie into the mix, grated carrot or zucchini or something along those lines. I googled liver treats read over a few recipes then just add libbed. No written recipe much like how i cook for ourselves a bit of this and a bit of that... then I slow baked them for several hours at a low temp to make them a little crunchier.
I also slice liver finely and dry it out on a cookie sheet.
I have bought some storebought treats ( And have used salmon flavoured cat treats .They are small and easy to use for training) But i prefer making her treats.. They are much more cost effective, you can control the size by cutting them into tid bit size, and no funky ingredients.
I made a huge batch and divided them for people at the dog club. There is a lab who didn't like any treat his dad tried to use when training.. he'd turn his head and couldn't be bothered. I asked if i could give him a liver treat. OMG you could see the light go off! YUM!! His nose was in hot pursuit of my pocket.
I ended up making treat bags to give to a few of the dogs. Big, big hit
