• My stupid state is closed! Debbie R Posted : 7/3/2006 11:06:01 AM I cannot believe this, what a bunch of morons we have running the government. He's going to get the raise anyway so they should just cut the S_ _ _! How come I have to manage my money to keep my household afloat, and they can just ask for more and more. NJ is the 3rd richest state in the country . I am so sick of all of them. Seriously though, that's pretty ridiculous. I am so sick of all of them.   I see it as Corizin throwing a temper tantrum because he didn't get his way.  I don't know if this is still in the works or not, but there was talk about not only raising the sales tax, but making the teachers unions pay back the money the government lost because of the stupid deal they made about the pensions awhile ago.  Uh- excuse me- I can't afford to have any more money takenout of my check (what there is of it) because they screwed up.  Besides, I'd be paying twice- once through the sales tax and then again through the payback.  If they're all serious about balancing the budget, let them take a pay cut.  I don't get my raise if the school budget gets defeated.  Oh, and did you know that they had a catered lunch brought in yesterday?  Somehow,  I don't think the money came out of their pockets. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. • Debbie R Posted : 7/3/2006 2:34:30 PM Jen if I move to PA I am going to take Stink Face so becareful what you wish for lol   What's going on is that our new governor wants to raise our sales tax from 6% to 7%, we've just had a hike in real estate taxes, and then pick anything else that comes to mind he hiked that too. Steph, the reason we care about the casinos is because it does take some  of the pressure off the tax payers in Jersey, not that much but some, not like Vegas who  pays no taxes. And all of the workers will not be paid, don't care about the owners but do care about all the workers. I seriously think that if the legislators lost a days pay for every day they went overtime, they'd get it passed on Day #1. • fuzzy_dogs_mom Posted : 7/4/2006 12:20:55 PM They were so slow in passing the budget in CA one year that state workers were in real danger of not getting their paychecks.  The banks jumped in and offered to make short term loans (with proof of income with a previous pay stub) so people could get their bills paid, then repay the loan when their checks finally came.
