I think my mom is having the psychological after effects, too.... She lives in one of the flooded towns you see on the news every night.  Her house got some water - and they're trying to sell it.  Ugh.  At the bottom of her street is the river that runs adjacent to the cemetary where my grandfather is buried.

Yesterday she sent a picture... of my grandfather's grave saying effectively "Well, although he's underwater, at least he's still underground"... then joked how we can't tell my grandmother or she'll refuse the be buried there, too.
I think she was just trying to find humor in all that water..

We just came from downtown.  The Ipswich River is still very high, but receding.  Businesses are heaving their carpeting, and still have pumps running in many cases.  First floors seem to be above the water now, but I bet the basements are still flooded.
Most businesses on the river side of Market St. are still closed.
I feel bad for them in Lawrence, too.  There are a lot of poor families there, and many are immigrants with poor English skills, so even getting the proper help is hard for them.  The Governor is making assessments of specific aid that will be needed and says he will ask for it - who knows what will be coming their way, though.

    Me too, ugh.

Well, at least (last I checked... it was yesterday though) they are calling for it to be fairly nice next week.
