Glucosamine

Dyan, I just wanted to add to what has already been said. I have back "issues" as well. Sciatica with numbness down my leg. I do see a Chiro often and do some PT exercises that help, unfortunately I don't do the exercises regularly (working on changing that bad habit) so I have pain more than I should.

I have pain daily, I have learned to live with it. But the pressure points really do help to alleviate some tightness. I use tennis balls (I bought for my dog and he doesn't like to play with). I lay on the floor with my knees bent and use them for some pressure points that are kinda on the side of the butt. I just roll onto the ball and stay until it releases. (I could not do this until after many sessions at the chiro because it was too painful). I now do this as maintainence. Hope your husband finds relief.

There was a coupon in the Sunday paper (which of course, I lost) for Knox NutraJoint and apparently it now comes in capsules for those who really can't stand the grainy stuff in their drinks.

The tennis ball idea seems like a good one too!

Just a small update on DH!

He IS taking glucosamine. Right away we bought the Triple Flex,,, so maybe we will try the Knox next....but for now at least he is on something.
But what I wanted to tell you is he is like an old fart,,,you know,,,the old people that just think doctor. is GOD and won't question...and if someone gives him a hint on something he will say "the doctor didn't say to do that!"  OR "I'm doing what the doctor said!"   So I told him about the pressure point AND tennis ball that Chas and Fizz mentioned. In fact, I printed the whole thread.     Of course the therapist didn't tell him to do none of that so he put the papers aside.   Yesterday he went back to her.  I came home and with all of his other exercise things he has laying in a spot on the floor is a tennis ball!!!!  The therapist ALSO told him exactly the same thing.  If he tried it yet or not, I don't know......I wasn't home much yesterday. But I just wanted you guys to know...I thought it was great!!!
    Thanks again all!

As an alternative option if the triple flex doesn't work,  I have had outsanding results for my dog on liquid health brand. I use the 5000 series that is for horses and dogs. They make multiple products for pets and a bunch of human products too. It was hard to find liquid glucosamine (and I understand it is much easier for their bodies to utilize it in this form). Another one I have heard something good about was called synflex I think???    You may want to checkout the liquid health website (much higher level of glucosamine in the 5000 series than I have seen anywhere else).

    Good luck!

MSM *is* indeed, great with glucosamine. Emma and I have some major joint and frame issues (I'm telling you, we're two peas in a pod, only she's the littler, sicker pea). Glucosamine and MSM help us a LOT. She gets 500 mg of each, daily, and I take 2000.

We've heard that hyaluronic acid is even better, so we're going to try that, next.
