i'm only guessing really, it could be that she is just young and hasnt had her first heat yet, but the physical characteristics i've noticed on spayed females that have never had puppies is their nipples are ..well... unused. also the vulva area isnt swollen like on unaltered females. in this area a dog like her would have been bred ASAP (pit bulls, you know the demand for them..) and she doesnt show signs of ever having reproduced.
But like i said, she could just be really really young. she has all her adult teeth so she probably isnt any younger than seven months old.
Some vets dont tattoo a dog after spaying, i've seen that myself in a couple of dogs i've owned in the past. i think its more common today to tattoo them, otherwise how else would you know? unless you look for some kind of physical signs. but again, unless you know the dog you're just guessing, like i am.
I wish this dog could talk. i would love to hear her story because she's a little mystery. she is very very submissive with people. loves children like they are the joy of her life (my 1 yr old cant stand her though- he isnt a dog person it seems)
This evening when i was going outside to feed everyone she was on the porch bouncing straight up and down in front of the door.... If someone dropped her off i wonder why. she is such a sweet heart. If she wandered away from home why hasnt she gone back? she has it in her head that she belongs here with us. and we only noticed her yesterday. But she wont leave our yard unless we leave, and she follows us right back home again, up the steps, and tries to come inside with us, we let her a couple of times and she spent last night inside, but we're having house training issues.... one of the things we're working on. Seems that she lets us know AFTER the fact that she needs to potty..... she will come sit beside us or give us a nudge. we get up to let her out and then... *squish*.... brand new puddle in the livingroom floor.
Sure the carpet needs replacing, but i dont want to replace it next week!
My cousin has let me borrow her crate for Kaydee, but Kaydee doesnt need to be confined anymore since she is getting her legs back to functioning, so i'm thinking we might try to use the crate in house training. i've never crate trained and older dog. my dogs were always crate trained as puppies, so if any of you have some tips for me, i'm open to any and all suggestions. i dont want to traumatize her and make matters worse.
