The Cowbys have been my favorite team even when I was in California, where I was born. I have watched them since they were an expansion team in 1969. They quickly became the team to beat. They always made it to the play-offs. I've seen plenty of embarrassment since Jerry Jones took over ownership. Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson, though each used different language, were both stern and firm and consistent. And it reflected in the teams they developed. They had gone to and won two Superbowls in a row and were going to do it a third time, which would have been a league record, when Johnson was sent packing.
Fortunately, the coach we have now is old school and the first thing he did was deny Jones field privileges and to not allow Jones to call plays from the press box. That's why the Cowboys got as far as they did. Let the coach do his job. And, quit babysitting. He's not about to put up with prima donna crap, like Jones did with some players. You have to go back to the Johnson mindset. "My way or the highway." And mean it. You'd be surprised how well people do once they know the boundaries and expectations are.
I think the Cowboys will get better as long as they keep this same coach and let him do his job.
