I met a lot of nice guys through those ads, including, two graduate students (I was finishing my own Ph.D.) , an attorney,  and a resident at the hospital, who I was going to go out with, until I met DH to be. Prior to that experience, I had put an ad in the regular newspaper and only went on one date, who was only marginally less scary than the others that responded. And if they would include their e-mail address, the website stripped it from the message before it sent... only my boyfriend, Brendan, was smart enough to give me his AIM screen name in his message.
