Didn't we have some Cat Stevens fans here?

I saw JD in concert (actually one of his last) about 2 months before he died.

Oh...you are so lucky you got to see him...what a memory you will never forget!![;)]

I get scared though when old musicians try putting out new music after decades. I was AWFULLY scared when Van Morrisson released a new album a couple of years ago. But, it was not bad.

I saw Van Morrison in concert this summer. He did quite a few of his old stuff along with the new. The guy has never written a bad song IMO! The concert was short and sweet. We were home by 9:30. Although I enjoyed myself. poor Van had no stage presence.

    Other concerts this year:
    Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
They are (except Nash) old, balding and fat. Despite that there was tons of energy. They continued their antiwar theme from their youth, but for a Canadian audience, their Bush bashing did not go over that well. Just too much. WE GOT IT ALREADY!!!!!

    Paul Simon
Excellent!!! Lots of old material and change in tempo from ballad to rock. I was pleased to see so many young folks there. Half way through the show people were out of their seats dancing and singing at the stage. He came back 4 times for ancores. You could tell he was having as good of time as the audience. He was actually moved by the reception he got.
Best Concert this year for me!

Van morrison HATES performing. He's very shy and easily stage frightened. When he was younger he used to get well lit (drunk) before a performance I believe, just so he could perform.
That is probably the reason for the lack of stage prescence.

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see Paul Simon!

Another fave of mine is Donovan.

I saw Bob Seger was touring again. Now HE has a voice...he sang something and some sports event recently and I was like "wow...he's still got it!". Bummer most of his tunes are in commercials now...but he can sure sing. Good songs too. My DH thought he wasn't touring due to some hearing issue but apparently that's sorted out now.

HEE! HEE! DH and I both noticed Van's seemingly unquenchable thirst at the concert. I guess it wasn't water!
