Site Petition

Sierra -- I remember you!  You provided such comfort to dozens of us mourning the loss of our beloved pets when you maintained the Rainbow Bridge "mural" or collage thread.  The kindness of forum members like you is what kept me here for years and is what makes me sad to think how the forum is barely a shadow of what it used to be.  

I doubt anyone will respond to concerns in this thread since it developing higher levels of usage doesn't appear to be a priority.  But, I saw your post and wanted to say hello and to thank you again for all you did for fellow members with the mural/collage.  Seeing my Tonka's image along with his new friends at the Bridge warmed my heart a great deal.

I just want to see who here would prefer the old site format back. I for one HATE this format. Do they not understand that no one likes this? I just do not get it. An administrator here once told me this would be a good thing...yeah...ahhh....NOOO.

I used to come to this site and read everything, since the new format, I only come here to read or post once in awhile where all the old friends are, I'm old and the rest of this site is way to hard to navigate, I've never liked it and never will, just my own opinion.  When the old site was here they helped me so much with the death and sickness of my first two dogs and I'll never forget that.  So much comfort from that.

I used to be a regular here as well, but I stopped coming because the new layout was so confusing. I scan NDR once in a while but most of us have moved on to keeping in contact via Facebook. The only reason I am here today is because an old member would like to log in but is getting errors. I am trying to find an admin to help her out.

Seriously. How do you even PM someone? I clicked on the post by DOG.community to see if there was a PM link in their profile. Nope. I went to my inbox, created a new message, and entered DOG.community in the "to" area. It would not work. ("No matches were found" error) I looked back to this thread and found another admin (?) Kaitlin58. I tried the same thing but got the same error. This new site is ridiculously frustrating and very un-user-friendly.

I think the mods or TPTB maybe decided we're just a bunch of whining complainers and so are avoiding us.

I agree, the forum is very user UNfriendly, and while I'm sure that they thot they were doing a great thing with the changes, it just left everyone cold.  And perhaps those who were around don't have the power to change anything so have just gotten sick of all the griping.  I don't know that for a fact, but that would be my assumption.

I *think* you have to be friends with someone in order to PM them.  I tried explaining that to an admin who used to be active on here, but he didn't seem to get what I was saying.  And now I never see him post anymore.

Yes, I think she does.  I always do when someone wants to be my friend.  And, it may well be that she isn't online a lot on the weekends when she isn't at work.  Anything is possible.
