Wow!  Great pictures, both of you.  Hope I didn't just repost any of them.

Beautiful, sunny day here today.  Never got out of the 50's so a tad chilly, but really quite a nice day.

Very nice photos, Doug and Jackie!  We sure have some good-looking dogs in our group here!

Doug, your descriptions of your "nature walks' always sound lovely, but I have to admit, this latest one had a key phrase that gave me the willies (Glenda, I'm surprised you didn't comment on it).  Seeing snakes lounging in the sun is not my idea of a pleasant walk!  Surprise  I don't care if they were harmless or not:  I don't want to encounter them anywhere!

Karen, I hope Bugsy's cough was just a passing thing and not an indication of anything going on with his heart or lungs.

Speaking of coughing, I've been feeling on the edge of a cold or respiratory thing for several days.  Finally figured out it's due to the field burning around the valley.  The air quality is crappy --- smokey enough this afternoon when I was weeding that I thought my neighbor was smoking something on his grille next door!

Kate, how wonderful that Ronnie does so well at the doggy "hotel" or camp.  You're right:  it does sound like a win/win situation for all involved.  What a good natured guy he must be.

I'm zooming around today, tackling the items on my chore list, to get things ready before my mother arrives on Tuesday.  Looking forward to her visit and having some days off from work while she's here.  Another day near 90 degrees.  When I was weeding, I couldn't believe how stressed (or dead) so many of our plants look from how hot and dry it's been this summer.

Off to find the feedback thread that Kaitlin mentioned to give my thoughts on this latest less-than-user-friendly format change!

Tracy, I shuddered a bit when I read the snake bit, but I DID lift up my feet when I saw Jackies picture since the snakes down there are big and mean!

    • Gold Top Dog

Too funny, Glenda --- whenever I hear someone telling a snake story, I instinctively lift up my feet, even if we're in a house or restaurant, far from any nature!!  Stick out tongue

    • Gold Top Dog

Shoot, if I see a dead one on the road when I'm in the car I lift up my feet and close my eyes, unless of course I'm driving!

On another note, I had a fun weekend at our Meet The Breeds event on Saturday ! Sunday was a fun (but chilly) hike with Harley and some friends! Didn't snap any pictures, but a fun time was had by all. Smile

Here's a thot, and perhaps the dumb one, but can't you just put the forum back the way it was?

just a quick update that Bugsy's cough never really got worse and disappeared completely in 2 days so I am guessing it wasn't kennel cough. I told Jackie the other day that I cannot help but worry about some of these things as due to his age and increasing amount of lumps I feel like it is impossible to keep up. Other than that we had a day of Fall weather and it was lovely. Work is manageable and less time consuming now. It is amazing how good 40-50hrs a week feels :) Happy to be working from home today.

Karen, I'm glad his cough is gone.  If we didn't love them so much we wouldn't worry so much. :)  I know you aren't one to obsess except about Bugsy. lol

So happy to hear that Bugsy's coughing cleared up quickly.

As for obsessing over our dogs, I have absolutely NO idea what you're talking about.  The fact that I had to examine Ruby incredibly closely from head to toe this morning after finding a few tiny drops of darkish fluid on her sleeping blanket is just plain, normal, pet parenting.  Isn't it?!   Embarrassed

Trying to finish up as many loose ends as possible at work today.  I head to the airport this afternoon to pick up my mother.  She'll be here for about 10 days, and I'm hoping to take many of those days off.  I'll have to pop in here and there (the drawback of having a job in a small company where there is no one but yourself to do your tasks), but it'll be nice to have some time off while she's here.  Ruby will be so excited to see her Grandma!
