Tina, thinking good thoughts for your friend and hope she has a full, speedy recovery.
Well, the melting is continuing, as it stayed in the high 30's all night, and it's raining this morning. But let me tell you, it's a MESS. Imagine 8-12 inches of snow on roads that were NOT plowed and now they're turning into slush. The main roads where a ton of vehicles have been driving over them for 24+ hours are pretty good (except when you have to change lanes and drive through several inches of thick slush). However, the neighborhood roads where there is little traffic = a nightmare. DH had so much trouble getting down our street that he called me and said he'd come back later to bring me to work. If his big truck was having trouble, then my car would be worse). Ugh. Now it's ugly and dirty and messy ---- I only like new, white, fluffy snow! :-)
Good to get out of the house today -- it seems like all I did was eat this weekend. DH cooked homemade fried chicken, a fabulous pot roast, a chocolate cake . . . and I ate them for 2 days straight. Took some walks in the snow, but not enough to burn even a fraction of those calories!
Along with eating, I watched lots of stuff on the DVR. Julie, what did you think of the final Sherlock episode? I loved it -- it was more in line with the earlier seasons, with more of a crime/mystery element. Did you know the people who played Sherlock's parents are really Benedict Cumberbatch's folks? They're both experienced actors. I liked the twist with Mary's past, and the funny quips in the dialogue, but boy was that villain CREEPY!
