    Friday Chilly Chat 12-13-13

Happy Friday 13th -- hey it got me free shipping at Swansonvitamins.com LOL -- that put ME in a better mood this morning!! Tomorrow is CGC test for the girls (please let them be "Charlie's Angels"??? LOL). The TDI representative will be there and I **SO** want to get back to going to GKTW in pet therapy. I just need to get Tink there early enough so Ms. Social can wear off her excitement BEFORE the test!! LOL I'm not in the "Holiday Mood" very much this year -- too much going on, I guess. Have a good day all!!

    good luck with the cgc!

Tonight is poker night. Maybe I'll win some money.

We have a snow storm brewing. I hope it holds off until early in the morning and doesn't get in the way of poker.

I really wish the weather would get above freezing one of these days. Unfortunately, it has a LONG way to go to get to get there. We probably won't see above freezing again until March. How depressing!

It's already started here and the storm isn't due 'til tomorrow nite.

we have the station party tonite....hope they can stay sober.  Last year was obnoxious as heck.  I never want to leave early, but I sure did last year.

Good luck with the CGC test, Callie!  I don't blame you for not being in the holiday mood. You've had way more on your plate this year than I have, and I'm not feeling all that festive either.

Enjoy the party tonight, Glenda.  As someone who has spent years as the designated driver, I understand how obnoxious a too-drunk crowd can get sometimes when you're not drinking that much yourself!

Hope your poker winnings are sizable, Julie!

We've got the greatest neighbor.  He and his wife are retired, and we really enjoy their company.  They also have a cute little dog whom we love.  The man is an amazing cook (I think I've mentioned some meals we've had at their house).  Well, yesterday after I got home from work, he called and asked if I was "slaving over a hot stove preparing dinner."  After I stopped laughing, I said no.  He said he was making some meatballs and tomato sauce with some polenta, he wanted to share it, and would we like some for dinner?  I said, "Of course - it sounds delicious!"  He said, "Okay, I'll bring it over in 30 minutes."  All we had to do was set the table.  It was fantastic.  Even better -- there was enough leftover for dinner tonight!

This is the same neighbor who is a very talented gardener.  More than once, I have found him outside planting something in our garden that he has divided from his garden.  He says he runs out of work to do in his yard, do we mind if he does things in ours?  Uh . . . no?!?!  His yard looks like a magazine spread.  We're lucky to stay on top of basic lawn care and weed pulling.  Anything he does is a major improvement to our landscape!

They have a new (first) grandchild who lives in another state.  They're talking about moving there.  I understand the love for their son and grandchild, but we must convince them to never move!  Tongue Tied

Tracy, your neighbor sounds like someone you'd read  about in a novel.  What a nice guy.  I hope they don't move, but if they do I hope they move next door to me. lol

It's date night but the weather is so gloomy and  yucky and so is my mood.  I should go anyway because I know I'll enjoy myself once I get to our favorite restaurant.  They treat us like family and the food is great.  What more could anyone want.? Well, maybe Tracy's neighbor. :)

Good luck tomorrow with the CGC, Callie.  They'll  do fine.

Funny you should compare our neighbor to your favorite restaurant, Jackie.  He used to own a restaurant years ago (long before we met him).  So, his cooking and hospitality skills are well honed!

Just me and Ruby here tonight.  DH is having a guys night in Portland.  He and two friends are  going to their favorite stores (a Filson store, a famous leather store) as well as dinner at a new place called the Whiskey Library.  The bottles are on huge wall shelves with the higher shelves being for more expensive bottles.   They have more than just whiskeys, but that's the main draw apparently.  Luckily they're on foot and staying in a downtown hotel, so no driving!
