Jackie, I'm sorry the new contract is going to be so much more work than expected.  Sounds like my experience with our new software that my bosses said would make my job "so much easier" (they made it sound like I'd be able to work fewer hours.  NOT the case!)

I've not heard of the "relaxation protocol."  Might be something Ruby could benefit from, but I'm 99% sure she'd react like Gabby.  The description of G on the mat, quivering with anticipation for the next step sounds exactly like Ruby's behavior when we practice some tricks or simple commands.

Having said that, we have tons of photos of Ruby looking just like Jameson in that photo, so she's capable of being a totally relaxed blob of jello.  The problem is that she only gets that way late in the evenings or first thing in the morning, not at other times of day!

Julie, bummer about the manure smell and the early-waking hour.  As someone who hears an alarm at 5AM, I know what you mean about your body demanding to go back to bed.  Every weekday morning it's a major struggle to get going.

This morning was even harder because I had a late night.  My friend and I made it to Portland in good time, despite the rainy drive.  We had a delicious Thai dinner at Pok Pok, and then to the 2 Cellos concert.  It was great.  To cello "purists" they probably aren't kosher (they used these electric looking cellos, not traditional ones) . . . but holy cow, did they put forth some crazy energy and LOUD music!  They played Smooth Criminal, Callie (excellent!).  They also did a couple other Michael Jackson songs, U2, Coldplay, Green Day, AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, 9 Inch Nails, a Rhianna song thrown in there.  Fun night, but I'm tired today!

Cathy, I'll send you the relaxation protocol.  I'll also send you a link to a youtube video.  The dog in the video must have been doing this for a long time. lol

Cathy, you posted while I was typing.  I don't think you should feel bad about being Debbie Downer.  It's very important that at least one person in a group serves as the realist -- it's not a good thing if everyone is a dreamer or idealist.  As the boring accountant type, I'm usually the one raising the doubts in such meetings and groups, but it's good to remain grounded in some practical perspective sometimes.  But it sounds like a great start, and I'm sure you'll do very well with fundraising efforts.  Keep us posted on the plans!

Agreed -- turkey is cheap and sides easy to prepare.  The $60 meal would only be worth it if you had a houseful of people and no time to do a huge meal yourself!

Jackie I googled Overall's relaxation protocol and it took me to a very smart pit named Veronica, :)  Is that the one and same Veronica that has been a Idogger?  She looks like her and she is smart as a whip.

Jackie we had to start with me just laying on the floor being boring and doing massage work. Then we moved to the actual relaxation protocol. And I have to be sure that my body language was boring before I really kicked into regular normal body language

Gin, I found that video of Veronica doing the relaxation protocol.  Is that her?!

Thanks for the tip, Julie.  I never lay on the floor with the dogs so getting that to be boring will be a challenge.  lol  She's better today so maybe I was just too impatient for progress.  I am very boring and methodical when doing it with her and practically put myself to sleep.  I downloaded the MP3's of the protocol because no way can any normal person remember that sequence. lol

    @JackieG
     Is that her?!

    :)

I actually saw a short video of "Veronica"   She did some special "tricks" that would be great for someone that had disabilities.  Lots of good training.  I  just has to be her.  Now if she were wearing a spcial costume we would know for sure :)

ETA:  It is her!  I did a Dog.com search for pics I knew were here and it took me to her Video in Dec. of 2012.  We really must have an update from them  She is the prettiest pit I have ever seen.   smart one too.

Good detective work, Gin!  I'll have to watch more of her videos when I have time or even if I don't.  lol She is adorable and so smart.  Her owner is pretty smart too or Veronica wouldn't be that good.  :)

Time to go home.  I got a lot done despite my time spent here and elsewhere looking at dog videos.  Gotta take breaks, right? :)

I looked at those videos too and laughed outloud at some of them. I especially loved the one of her saying grace before they ate :).

I got an email from one of my favorites of our partnership and she wanted to know what color we should plan to paint the place. We don't even have a place yet but I appreciate her enthusiasm :)
