I tried to post this earlier and it failed.  I'll try again . . .

Jackie, that's what I meant about me not being educated on all the factors involved in this issue.  Everything you posted was relevant and valuable information I didn't think of or know.  Not having ever personally known any ranchers (I'm a city mouse!), my image is one of vast acreages and huge herds owned by wealthy landowners or commercial feed supply operations.  And I was thinking of cows that are only butchered for food, not bred for subsequent generations of calves and how the loss is beyond just that one cow.  Interesting that they have the reimbursement programs and how they look for signs of a wolf killing.  Obviously, it's a very complicated thing with all kinds of viewpoints and perspectives, depending on who is being affected.  It's very hard to strike a balance between the needs of nature/wildlife and the human population.

On a lighter note, thanks to you and to Tina for offering your Ruby-sitting services.  We have room for both of you!  She would love you guys, and I would be able to relax knowing she had such excellent substitute Moms while I was away.  If you were closer, I'd seriously take you up on the offer if the need arose!   But we'd have to arrange your visit to extend before/after our absence so we could hang out together for a while, have some cocktails (and some chocolate), do some local sight-seeing, and visit face-to-face.  I wouldn't want you to just be the dog-sitters!  Wink

I really wish people would stop taking birds as pets :( I am glad I missed the past special. It would have annoyed me.

I don't have much of an opinion on the wolf hunting. It is like any other kind of hunting I guess as long as they aren't over hunted it should be ok

A coworker recorded the first 4 episodes of this season's walking dead for me so guess what I am doing tonight!

Thank you that this week is finally over.  It's time for a bubble bath and an extra large glass of wine.....
