Tuesday, ELECTION Day!

I wonder if I can't find them if I can just put "blah, blah, blah" and call it good

Cathy, that's hilarious!  If your board meetings are anything like some of the meetings I've sat in over the years, then "blah, blah, blah" would be an entirely accurate summation of much of the discussion!  Wink

I can't imagine how Deb and her family are getting along (and your family, Karen) -- all this time without no power, and now with cold temps.  I saw on the news where families are starting to burn furniture for warmth.  Not exactly the ideal way of cleaning out water-damaged things, but there's only so much cold one can take.

Lisa, those photos are great!  Look at how grown up Riley is!  She's so stylish with her leggings and little boots.  I'd pay way more than $16 for that package, but I love a bargain, so three cheers for that price!!

It's been over 15 years since I've cast a ballot in a voting booth.  Oregon is all vote-by-mail, so we voted last week.  I appreciate not having to stand in line somewhere today.  However, lots of people wait until to today to deliver their ballots, so I took an alternate route to work this morning because I knew there would be traffic problems near the county elections office.  DH said there was a jam there on his way home last night.  This year's election and campaign have me stressed out, so I'll be glad when it's all over.

On a lighter note, my alternate route to work took me past my favorite bakery, so I just had to stop and get a warm blueberry scone for breakfast.  What a terrible inconvenience!  Big Smile

LOL, Cathy about the blah, blah, blah in place of the lost papers.  The niece I was talking about is 25, served in the Navy, is going to college and has two kids.  I feel  sad and mad that she feels the way she feels but it's a free country so she can choose to not vote and then bitch about who wins. lol  It doesn't change my feelings for her.  It is possible to disagree with someone and still like them.

    Blueberry scones!  Yum!

Lisa, those pics are adorable.  :)

edited some of my bad grammar

I've looked everywhere and can't find my notes from the meeting. Fortunately, I think I can put enough BS together so no one will know.

My right ear is really bothering me so I decided to try out Kaiser's online system for appts. I'm guessing if I want to get in sooner than a week or so, I'm going to have to call. They haven't assigned me a dr. and I have no idea who to choose. I'm feeling very sad about losing my old plan and my dr. I could call or email and get an appt the same day Sad

Jackie - It's a little surprising to me that serving in the Navy didn't make your niece feel the need to be more inclined to vote. I was voting before our time in the Air Force, but it seemed even more important once we were in and I think most military families felt the same way.

Karen - still thinking about your family!!  Is there any estimate for them?

Sister said they are now told that Friday they should be up and running. Brother's house is being inspected on Thursday I believe

    Pics of Riley are great

Cathy most board meetings do just go "blah blah blah" Wink

I have been working some extra hours at the school I work at on Wednesday's - every little bit helps but I am having to rearrange my entire life to squeeze these shifts in.

We finally managed to vote, but, man it was a total PITA.  Dropped DS off for his docs apt, and then DH and I went to our regular polling place only to be told it wasn't anymore.  We got given implicit directions to 4B only to arrive at 4A who then sent us to the third, and thankfully final place where we actually voted.  Total time at the poll?  5.5 minutes.  Total time messing around trying to find the right place?  Well over an hour. Sigh.  A less hard headed individual might have given up.

For those who didn't get a sticker for voting, I bet we have extras here! I'd be happy to send some to you. I voted when I got home tonight and was person # 80. Four more (including a couple kids who are voting in their first presidential election) came in after me. I'm guessing we'll have close to a 90% turnout on the island--what else is there to do?? :-)  Tried to call my folks from work to check in on them this morning and there was no answer. I panicked, and then realized they were probably voting. Yup, they were.

The nor'easter is headed our way--how are things in NC Karen? It looks like it's hitting there now. Texted Deb quick this afternoon--she was on her way to get some supper. I just keep think of her and her whole family, and Karen's family, and everyone else.

OK, off to do a bit of work and then watch some of the returns. I really wish they won't say anything until the polls have closed in all 50 states, but that's just wishful thinking these days. I figure the folks in Hawaii must wonder why bother to vote, given it seems to be called before they're done voting!

Great pics of Riley! And, a great deal!

Hugs for all who need them. Extra positive vibes for all the folks in CT, NYC and NJ.

Kate!  Good to hear from you.
