why would someone transfer a telemarketer call? *shakes head*

Because she thinks it's funny and she has passive-aggressive tendencies. She will go in spurts, and I haven't been the delgated bitch in a while, at least since the last time I got short with her and said "just hang up on and stop wasting my time." Believe me, there is no love lost between us.

Jackie - I'm so happy that Twister is doing so well and I know you must be too. I'm very sad about the foster dog though and hope he can recover.

I was just reading a little about the potential perfect storm and unless they're just hyping it up, it sounds like it could be very bad. I hope Glenda's good planning will help it fizzle out or stay offshore.

I hope we get to see some pics of Karen and Deb having fun together.

I second Cathy's hope about seeing pics of Deb & Karen (as a non-Facebook user, I'd appreciate it)!

Jackie, I hope Twister feels quite well after this treatment.  Give him some ear rubs from me.  What a sad story about that foster dog.  Really?  The adopter didn't know how the dog got hurt???  Good thing the dog is no longer there.  Poor thing --- fingers crossed there's hope for a good recovery.

Tina, your coworker sounds unpleasant.  We get a lot of telemarketing calls here.  Only 2 of us answer phones, and both me and my coworker immediately tell them to remove us from their calling list.  What I really hate is when they argue with you or get belligerent.  One time a telemarketer called wanting to pitch account collection services.  I said, "No thanks, we don't need such services."  He said, "Do all your customers pay in cash?"  I said, "No, but we don't have any uncollectible accounts."  He said, "Well, you're lying."  I told him I most certainly wasn't and hung up on him.

Glenda and Kate --- I hope the storm doesn't make it to New England with the severity they're estimating.  Wasn't it last year about this time that the huge snow storm happened and hundreds of thousands of people lost power for many, many days?  Better to be prepared like you described, Glenda -- maybe that will keep the storm away.  As I heard someone say once, "I'm an optimist, but I'm an optimist who brings her raincoat."

Quick check-in to say Deb is generous to a fault! We had a wonderful lunch & chat, she is a great lady! And Manhattan is still intact!

Today my student paid me to follow her to the bank so she could get the money to pay me. Now I feel dirty, sitting in the parking lot, waiting for cash.

Ear rubs delivered!  He feels fine afterwards and hopefully he'll not have any nausea, etc.  He only had one small bout of vomiting after the previous treatment.  Re the foster dog, the foster mom said AC is investigating but I doubt they'll find out much.  My heart was really tugged at by this dog's story and the foster mom's dedication.  Thank gawd for people like her.  She has four of her own dogs and another foster she's fallen in love with.

We get tons of telemarketing calls here too.  I don't even speak to them once I listen for long enough to know they're telemarketers. " BYE!" lol  Asking  to be taken off their calling lists isn't working.  Our numbers are in the no call registry but seems that's less and less effective and the robotic calls are impossible to stop.  Such a waste of time each day that I could be wasting here. :)

I have a caller ID on my phone here and if I don't recognize the ph #, and especially if it's a 8** type #, I just let it go to VM. They rarely leave a message Big Smile.

I went to take Shane for his morning walk and I hear a low "ruff-ruff" coming from a car nearby. I got closer and there's a pitbull type dog sitting in the back seat with the window rolled almost all the way down and no one in the car. I instantly had an "oh $#*?" moment and was sure it would come after us but it didn't. I walked a bit faster than usual though and it took awhile for my heart to stop racing.

Thank gawd, is right!  Our local shelter has a number of great foster families, and I don't know how they do it.  One woman had a mama dog with 13 newborn puppies for many weeks this summer.  A friend of mine helped when the woman wasn't home a couple times; she said the work of caring for that many puppies was amazing.  This foster woman has a job and a human and pet family, too!

Cathy, I'm glad nothing happened with that dog in the car --- I just came in from a walk with Ruby that involved a scare with a loose dog.  I think I'll start a thread with a question or two about my reaction.

I wish I had lunch with Deb and Karen in Manhattan!!  It sounds way more fun than eating my tuna sandwich alone at my desk like I did today!

Glenda, we're prepping, too, in hopes Sandy won't show up! Saturday is the day--get the new generator up and running and the old one ready as back up, get the dogs' (and humans';) water drawn and stored, bring in the last of the plants, candles out and ready, etc. This could be a big one--but hopefully she just heads out to sea. Mozey has her wellness checkup and three year rabies shot on Saturday, too.

Yeah Twister!! I hope he has minimal side effects from this round of chemo.

Cathy, it sounds like Shane did well with the dog-in-the-car episode today.

Deb and Karen--sounds like a great day!

I can't remember any more...but good thoughts and hugs for all who need them.

The storm is named Sandy?? My Sandy says she most certainly is not a storm but would love to cuddle under a blanket and hide from said storm with you.

Grilled cheese and tomato soup for dinner tonight.. Mmmmmmm can't wait...

And this is me doing homework....
