I'm saving all my extra change so I can put her through bartending school.

I know how to make what I like; who cares about the rest? Zip it!

Speaking of Chilly Tuesday, I have Chilli cooking in the crockpot. My mom was going to make something, but she was going to have to buy things to do that. Given that amount of food I just threw out, plus there is more to be thrown out still, I decided to make something with ingredients we already had in the house. So, we're having Chilli. While looking at recipes, I found a recipe for Dr. Pepper Taco Soup. I could probably do that one with about $5.00 of additional ingredients. I only need Dr. Pepper, a can of beans, and a packet of ranch dressing mix to do it. There's also a recipe for Dr. Pepper Taco Mac and Cheese, but that one would cost me a bit more in terms of additional ingredients.

I had no idea Texas allowed non Texans to drink or use Dr Pepper. Wink Our governor will probably find a way to stop that or at least tax the rest of you and maybe us too.  He needs the money for the education fund here as he seems to have gutted all that money.

Shouldn't a Dr. Pepper cocktail have some Dr. Pepper in it? Confused Not that I would drink it if it did. I can't stand the taste of Dr. Pepper but I love the taste of Amaretto.

My crappy day hasn't improved yet. I put some wintergreen oil on my neck/shoulder and immediately thought I should've waited until I'd put my contacts in. I scrubbed my hands like crazy but still felt it when I put my first contact in and had to take it out and throw it away. Scrubbed a few times more and that did the trick. When I went to put Shane in the car with his new safety halter thingy, his front leg got tangled and it took me about 10 min's to get him unraveled. And, since yesterday was a holiday and the girl that would cover for me was off, I have a boatload of work to do and my whole body feels achey. I'll take some cheese to go with this whine Stick out tongue

You can keep your Dr. Pepper. I don't like the cherry flavor.

Jackie, Texas should try the lottery. It's boosted education here in Michigan. Not.

Just give me the kahlua and amaretto, Deb.

As for substitute bartenders, don't put me on the roster the next time you go on vacation, Deb.  I'd make Tina look like a pro.  I'm a lightweight AND I don't know how to make any drinks unless they pour straight from a wine bottle.  And even then I struggle to uncork them!

Hope you had a great vacation, Deb.  Nice to see you back (not just because of your bartending skills)!

Sorry to hear about the "appliance problems" Julie and Karen.  Hope your foods are being chilled and your body is being warmed soon!  My Mom's fridge just died a week ago.  It had been off for many hours, so she lost a lot of perishable items.  She was so mad.

I hate that "DH birthday/Christmas gift dilemma."  It's tough when they buy what they want during the year.  I was so glad DH held out on buying an iPad because that's what I got him for his 50th BD last month.  Now he's glued to it nearly every waking hour, playing on it even during his beloved football games! Huh?

Bwahahahaha!  When all the religious people finally caved in and allowed the lottery here it was because the money was supposed to go toward education.  Guess what?  Not much seems to help our education situation here either.

I don't either.  I used to like regular Dr Pepper but not much anymore.  My brother is addicted to it as are countless other people I know.  The only way I like it is heated, to near burn your tongue temp, and add a big slice of lemon. Yep, I know it sounds weird and maybe even yucky but I eat peas too, so there. lol

    Cathy, hope your day improves.

    • Gold Top Dog

I always thought regular Dr. Pepper had a hint of black cherry flavor. I don't drink soda much at all - maybe once a year - so I could be imagining that. Isn't there a cherry flavored Dr. Pepper, too? At any rate, I won't be having either, so you can have mine share however you like with the peas I'm also giving you. Stick out tongue

I wish I could say Brrrr lol still hot in Florida. Daisy is doing a little better today. I had two 3 year olds here today Tongue Tied it's always fun lol both were arguing it's my hotdog no my hotdog. My niece just left my nephew is still here.

Funny thing happened, I went to Walmart with my mom and I picked up some rice and said Ma I'm gonna buy this rice she says to me is it Instant? I say no it's in a box lmfao she was like omg. I was born a natural blond so I used that as my excuse LMAO

This shirt has me itching...it is a lightweight long sleeve shirt I got from Land's End last year...only been worn a couple times.  I pulled up the sleeves, and saw little red dots on my arms.  I am not normally an allergic person, but something about this has got me!  I have also been thinking that maybe I should give things a second rinse in the washer.  It is one of those high efficiency front loaders, and I have been wondering if it really rinses well.  I could cut down the detergent also, although I don't put much in.

     what a crazy day.............

at least I finally don't feel chilled to the bone

Bugsy had some new dog food tonight - ziwipeak canned venison 'flavor' - apparently it is worthy of zoomies. He's worn out my patience today

Marty I find that I generally run the extra rinse on my HE washer, we have slightly acidic water which reduces sudsiness (nice word) I have convinced myself that the extra rinse helps get all the detergent out

DH had to travel again, I am going to have a 'whatever I can find' dinner and watch a movie

BTW we watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel Saturday night and it was very enjoyable, easy watching

From yesterday, Lisa a vet hasn't seen Tango in a year. I don't take her in often because she has to be sedated just to do a physical. I've set up one of my extra crates with a bed, pee pad, water and placed in a dark corner so she has some where to hide but I can still keep an eye on her. She's choosing to stay in there. But on a good note shes EATING!! She ate more then half of what she's been eating. So she is now on an all wet diet, which is fine by me!

    • Gold Top Dog
I'm glad she's eating. Gentle nuzzles for the kitty. Thanks Karen! It's a little scary to think that she has a hard time interacting with the other kids since everyone says she's so happy and charming. I know it will come. I just keep thinking to myself, I get to keep my little girl "little" longer and that is definitely not a bad thing. Hope you had a fab time on vacation Deb - we missed you.
