Ok - so free head to toe grooming on Friday. Yes

Glad they did the right thing.

LOL, they have no idea...or maybe they did.

Jackie I appreciate you making me younger but that is a "Great" grandbaby...ugh!  I remember thinking my great grandma was reeeaaallllyyy old, some how I just dont feel as old as I thought she was, ha!

Karen thanks for the tip on the hip surgery.  She is having some trouble getting excercise but that is what we were told was most important. Thanks for all the vibes everyone, I will keep you all informed.

Oh, by the way is anyone headed to Fayetteville for the Bikes, Blues and BBQ Festival?   It is this week.  All the bikes will start rolling in on Wednesday.  We will do our part by staying at home this weekend :)

I just have to say I work with the BEST coworkers and for seriously a great boss.  It really, truly makes a big difference.  I'm taking next week off on short notice, to get some big project stuff done around the house.

Why is it that some weekends you have nothing on your calendar, but others are jammed packed with things to do?  Since last Thursday, it's been go-go-go, with DH's birthday, our anniversary, gatherings and meals out, appointments, visitors to the house, and the usual errands and such.  Lots of fun (and way too much over-eating and desserts), but I'm too tired to be at work today!

For our anniversary we went to a great restaurant that focuses on local, seasonal ingredients.  When I saw that the halibut was served with zucchini fritters, I thought of the recent posts about them, so I had to order it.  Delicious!  Their fried batter probably cancelled out the healthy quotient of fish, but who cares?!

We said no to dessert, but the waiter knew it was a special occasion, so he brought us that night's specialty on the house.  It was kind of weird:  a turnover pastry filled with sorrel (a lemony herb), a sweet red pepper ice cream, surrounded by blackberry sorbet, with a carrot curry pouring custard drizzled on it.  It was very pretty on the plate, and surprisingly tasty.

Ginger, congrats on the great-grandson-to-be.  And good wishes for your daughter's hip surgery.  Hopefully her healing process is somewhat easier or more rapid because she's younger.

Deb, Bruce is coming to Portland in late November, and we bought tix as soon as they went on sale Saturday morning.  I'm SO excited; I've never seen him!  Our seats aren't ideal (first section off the floor, but on the opposite end of the arena from the stage), but I'm thinking it'll still be an awesome experience.  I can't wait!

Well, if you're anything like me  . . . you'll be spending more time watching the gigantic projection screens than looking at the actual stage.  It's the only way I can see anything, LOL.  You'll have a blast !!!

Very true!  Between the giant screens and binoculars, it shouldn't matter how far away we are, or how poor my middle-aged vision is!

Some other friends had some computer trouble, and by the time they got their online purchase to work, the seats that came up for them were behind the stage, almost on the side edge.  I told them they might actually have a better vantage point than we do because they'll be so much closer, and Bruce will surely move around all sides of the stage.  After all, he truly cares about giving fans the best possible experience, right?  We were surprised that the highest ticket price was under $100 (before fees).  That's pretty cool for such a major performer.  I was expecting to pay way more than that.

Hmmm, that does sound weird.  Happy Anniversary!

You've also reminded me I need to get a card for my BFF's anniversary the end of this week which corresponds w/my niece's birthday, so I don't know how I can forget it.  Other than the fact that we've COMPLETELY blown through September!  Where the heck did it go!?

Ahh, yes, puppies.  I can't expose them to clothes/shoes that have been worn around dogs.  Like I needed an excuse to go shopping!!

I can't remember if I posted this before but when we saw Bruce in Germany, it was at a sporthalle (like our football field) and we had good seats but not on the grass. I was so thankful for that when he came on stage. The crowd went crazy and rushed the stage and you could see people near the front getting crushed. They anticipated it and had people there to lift them over the barrier and then they brought out the fire hoses and shot water at the crowd to back them off. It was like nothing I've ever seen. The concert was one of the best I've been at.

That dessert sounds really interesting. Glad you enjoyed it and Happy Anniversary!!

Carpets look fantastic but still aren't dry, so we may not be able to move furniture back in place until tomorrow. Shane is unsettled by the whole thing and seems pretty worn out by the day.

ETA to add good thoughts for your daughter Gin and congratulations on the upcoming birth of your great grandson.

I am afraid to ask...who is Bruce?

Sorry, Marty!  That was my fault for using only his first name (yeah, like he's a personal friend of mine!).  Deb referred to him by last-name only in her post, which is actually more appropriate for someone of his legendary status, and I should've shown him the same respect in my reply!  Tongue Tied  Wink

Cathy, your description of the crushing crowds at the show in Germany sounds scary!  Can you imagine being one of those people down there?  Even without the risk of trampling, I would never buy floor seats for a show like that because everyone likely would stand all night, and at barely 5 feet tall, I wouldn't see anything but backs and shoulders!  Actually, for this show, the floor is general admission, standing only, not even an option to sit.  My back couldn't handle standing for 4 hours straight!

My neighbor a couple doors down has been washing and vacuuming his car for nearly 90 minutes.  This is something he does every week or so for both cars.  My car gets a quick wash and vacuum maybe 2 or 3 times a year.

I always thought everyone knew who Bruce was. I'm not even really a fan, but I know who it is. I guess maybe because I hear about Bruce, and how governor Christie likes him because I listen to the NJ talk radio station all the time.
