Wake up, it's Tuesday - chat

Crazy weather stirring up here--windy and whitecaps on the bay with rain on the way. Mozey is not pleased with the wind.

Jen, congratulations to you and Luke :-)  I think your registry list is perfect. Did they send you the card as soon as you set it up? I'd probably add a good stack of towels for the dogs, too :-)

I love manicotti--yum!! If I head out now, I bet I could be there for supper tomorrow night. Then, a little detour for some of those banana muffins. And supper at Glenda's on the way back home seems good, too.

OK-off to work on lesson planning. Hugs for all who need them.

I have to go to the store, print my registry, and go to guest services to get the gift card. If I remember, I'll stop in tomorrow and do it. Thanks for the idea on the towels. We could really use some. I've complained before about how my mom buys more food than we need, doesn't put it away, etc. So, she bought oatmeal and left it on the floor. I've already cleaned it up once a few weeks ago and put it in a ziploc bag. The dogs got into the oatmeal. Luke knows how to push open the gate and get in the kitchen, and the others follow him in. Two of three dogs had explosions in their crates tonight. Callie didn't, and I think she had hers outside. The third one, not in my sig, she kept exploding as I rushed her through the house and up to the bathtub to  wash her. She continued exploding on my foot, but at least she was in the bathtub when that happened. She exploded again after I washed her. I need to bring a crate up for Luke for tomorrow morning, because his crate was just pushed out the back door for the night. It's pouring rain, lightening, and dark. I'm not going to clean that tonight, so he'll just go in one the extra crates. Hopefully everyone is done exploding, but I think Luke, Callie and I will sleep upstairs on the couch. It's laminate floors up there, and my room is carpet. If they're not done yet, I'd rather it be on that floor.

I know I haven't been around much lately, but I have to pop in and brag (twice) about my Willa! Geeked

She just started taking a preschool tumbling (ages 3-4) class at the Y (she's 4.5). She did a similar class before, I think when she was two. Today was the second class of the 7-week session. After class the teacher came up to me and said that this class was too easy for Willa and that she should switch to the level 1 gymnastics class (ages 5-6) that is held in the middle school's gymnastics balcony. Yay! I am so excited for her. She's going to have a blast on all the "real" equipment. For the record, I do not see the olympics in her future. She's always been in the 95-100 percentile for her height. lol

She's been taking swimming lessons all summer. We started out with the parent-pike class, where I swam with her. After only one session (thank God - that water is friggin cold. lol) she graduated up to the pike (without me.) Then she moved up to eel, then stingray, which she's in now. Willa SWAM in class tonight! Big Smile They went out where it was over their heads by a few inches. They held onto the edge of the pool and dunked under so they could feel where the bottom was. Then they sat on the edge and one-by-one hopped in, swam out about 8 feet, turned around and swam back. Without the floaty packs and without the teacher touching them. I was .SO. proud! Willa was just beaming. Her ability and confidence has improved at every class. I'm so glad I started her early with this.

Nice to "see" you, Janice.  I'm sure your schedule is crazy with school having started again, but I'm glad you popped in with your Willa brag!  I'm always amazed by really young children develop such advanced skills and confidence so early.  When I think of how I was at that age (and still am) when it comes to all things athletic -- yikes!  You should be very proud!

Cathy, I can't get the video to run on this old laptop.  I'll have to watch it tomorrow at work.  It must've been fun.  Maybe Shane will get some autograph requests if anyone recognizes him from his TV spot!

Jen, congratulations to you and Luke!  I seem to recall other people who've gotten married while they were forum members posted a photo or two.  I'd sure like to see you both in your wedding attire -- Luke will look dashing in a bow tie, maybe made of plaid flannel, to match a favorite pair of pajamas?!  Stick out tongue  And I think you've got a very good registry going!
