    Saturday chatting

It is too early. I bought one of those sunrise alarm clocks last night. Can't wait until it arrives! I hope it works well. Does everyone have holiday weekend plans? I have plans to hook up with a friend today but that is about it. I haven't done much in a while so I have the itch to go out and hang out. I also haven't exercised since I got back from vacation and am feeling extremely sluggish because of it. So, my goal is to get to the gym today and maybe take a bike ride or hike with the dogs.

No plans here other than the usual errands and stuff. Our temps really dropped last night and it's a little overcast. I don't think it'll last beyond today and we'll be back in the mid-90s. It would be a great day for any outdoor fun. I think I'll either go out to Homeward Bound today or tomorrow and walk some dogs. I hope everyone has a great day!

No fun plans here. We took the dogs for a romp in the park early because it's going to be hot and is so humid the windows are dripping with condensation.

I'm going to work on cleaning out the garage while DH starts to remove the baseboards in preparation for the tile installation.  He's already regretting that decision I think.  lol  I told him we should just buy new trim but he thinks he can save the existing stuff.  We haven't even signed on the dotted line for the tile but I think we're comitted once he starts tearing all the trim off.  He's on his way to HD to buy stuff for his project.  I'm sure we have all we need but he likes to go to HD and buy tools a lot more than he likes the actual using of the tools. The seasonal change is hitting my sleep. I usually get up about sunrise. If it looks brite out, I roll out. If not, I doze a little, then roll out. I woke up the other day, it looked like it was getting light out, so I dozed a bit , waited for the alarm, then checked the clock. 12:39AM. Bright moon rising.

Tomatoes getting canned. Wife is making pickles now. Our tomatoes look great, taste great, have really healthy vines, but not a lot of tomatoes. Having been married for over 40 years, I will not offer my wife any suggestions for a while. I will get a load of manure and cover the garden plot thickly, probably on a day she is engaged elsewhere.

I mentioned to my wife that I was going to throw out the carpet in the basement(not a man cave-a semifinished basement). She had plans and pictures cut out of magazines fastened to note cards, with colors and patterns. I was going to throw out a carpet (one or two too many animal accidents). She has a complete remodel planned for me to do. It would look nice, but not what I want to do. I can live with the old carpet for a while, at least until I get the carpet cleaner replaced.

I am with youe DH I love getting new tools more then using them.Smile

The only plans we have are a river float and BBQ. Other then that its working on the

front yard. Ive been working on it for weeks. We ripped out the grass 3 yrs ago and never

Had a chance to get back to it. I am xeriscaping it .it’s the never ending project. I probably wont even get

    Plants in till next year.

So far, my plans for the long weekend involve cleaning the house and doing laundry after about 10 days of houseguests.  I'm on my second load of sheets now, have already done the towels, but will then have to do the linens from our own bedroom and bathroom.  I won't be doing any water conservation this weekend!

DH is spending the night at a friend's cabin near Mt. Hood, so it'll be me and Ruby on our own until he gets back tomorrow.  Poor Ruby.  She hates being away from her Dad, and I can't even come close to filling his shoes as far as she's concerned.  She'll mope around while he's gone and/or climb the walls looking for attention while I'm doing housework.  My friend and I are going to take her on a 2 mile walk in a little while.

Doug, it sounds like you have an amazing bounty from your garden.  Do you grow heirloom tomatoes?  We can get them here at the local farmer's market.  Their flavor just about knocks you over compared to the usual store tomatoes.  Their shapes and colors are incredible, too.

You gotta watch out for those "simple" home projects like removing carpet or adding tile.  Next thing you know, you've decided the walls need painting, the old furniture doesn't match, etc.  My friend's aunt described their full kitchen remodel in a Christmas letter by saying, "It all started because we needed to replace the microwave . . . "  Big Smile

Jackie, I love your new signature photo!  So sweet!

    ROFL!! Isn't that the truth?!

Jackie - I too love your new signature.

Yesterday when I was at the vet's with Shane, there was a guy in there with a several weeks old boxer puppy. OMG - he was the cutest thing I've seen in forever. He was all wiggly butt trying to greet Shane but Shane wasn't sure what to make of him. I was a little surprised that he was wearing a choke collar. Why would a itty bitty puppy need a choke collar? Huh?

No big holiday plans here, except to maybe work in a trip to Costco either today or tomorrow.  I'll need to bribe one of the boys to come along because I want to get a pack of that citrus green tea and some water.  Those 35 bottle packs are hard to pick up and even harder to get out of the basket and into the car.

I can't believe how cool and overcast it is this morning.  It's like we went from summer to fall overnight.  I'm sure the heat will be back in a short time, but right now I'm enjoying wearing jeans and a long sleeved t-shirt.

Jackie, I love that  pic of Twister too.  You should frame that one. Smile

I'm envious of the cool weather some are having today.  It got too hot to work in the garage so I came inside to help with the removal of the molding.  That saying "in for a penny, in for a pound" is very fitting at our house as of today.  We've officially begun living in a semi DYI project. Tongue Tied

Gabby is being very helpful.  Not. lol

Cathy, Boxer puppies are incredibly cute and why people put a choke chain on any puppy is beyond me.  LOL at Shane's reaction.

Sheesh, my niece (DH's brother's daughter) is getting married in Oct.  Deadline for RSVPs was Aug 31, 6 weeks in advance.  Last week she wrote something on FB about only 68% having responded.  Now she has sent a private FB message to all who haven't responded.  I admit I was late, but it did go in the mail yesterday.

I've never heard of anyone doing this, and it sounds a little pushy and slightly offensive to me.  What do you think?

I'm posting this from my new phone. I finally caved and upgraded to a blackberry curve. So far I'm having a wee bit too much fun

No big plans here. BBQ at my parents tomorrow and Monday I get the entire day to myself! No pressing errands and no work. I'm giddy. Mid 70s is perfect temps! Jackie, I love your new siggie. Have a great weekend!

Marty, she is prob just stressing out over the whole thing. I don't hold crazy behavior against brides to be or mothers to be.....much ;p

I am loving our weather and wish I could send it to you Jackie. It was 80 breezy and a bit overcast today. My friend said "I am getting sick of this weather" I thought I heard her wrong so I said "you mean 80 degrees?!" Yep, she wants 60s. I told her to bite her tongue. I think I could do 80 degrees all year long. Love love love it. I so do not want winter.

Cathy, a choke on the a puppy :( poor thing.

Congrats on the new blackberry. Smartphones are too much fun sometimes ;p

Finally made it!  Worked for a few hours today since we aren't working Monday and I won't have that day before  the Tuesday evening deadline.  Worth my time though...once clients got over the shock of seeing me on a Saturday, they were quick to buy.  Will have to try that trick again!

Joyce, I LOVE that tea.  Have you tried the white tea with raspberry?  That's also yummy.

I too love the Twister pic!

The biggest problem with a massive grocery shopping trip is the putting away....that, and discovering just how too long it's been since you really did a good purge of the fridge! Tongue Tied

Glenda, I haven't tried the white tea with raspberry yet.  Is it a Costco brand or does Lipton make it?  Lipton also makes a flavor of those little packets that you dump into a bottle of water and shake ... green tea w/honey, pineapple and mango.  So good!  I find myself drinking more water when I have that on hand.

Sean agreed to go to Costco with me tomorrow and lift the heavy stuff, so I guess I'll buy him a package of those big breaded prawns he likes so much. :) I actually think he kind of likes wandering around in there, especially when there's a holiday coming up.  They should be passing out some pretty yummy snacks. The other one will go if I ask him, but wandering around in Costco really isn't his idea of a fun way to spend an hour or two. He wants to get in, get what we came for and get out.

Have a great holiday weekend, everyone!
