One slide, Karen?  oy, you've got a long day ahead of you.  I suggest using pictures of Bugsy and making that work for your presentation.  lol

Can you imagine how easy creating a presentation for iDoggers would be? All you would need is dog photos. lol

    Welcome, little baby Ireland!

I've had about 4-6 hummingbirds fighting over my feeders all morning. Each feeder has four perches, but the territorial little buggers refuse to share. Confused

DH is starting first shift so our lives are being turned up-side-down! It's amazing all the rearranging that has to take place for a simple schedule change. I'll be getting up with the kids in the morning, going to their activities and to the Y, making lunch, and getting Sonja down for a nap. Then I'll start work and DH will be home early afternoon. I'll work until 5. It will be nice to have him home for dinner and the evening.

However, when Willa starts school next month, the schedule will change a bit. She'll be in school two full days, and Sonja will be in daycare those days also. So I will have two days where I can get a lot of work done, and the other two days I'll only work a couple of hours. Even though the transition will be rough, I really think it's going to work out for us.

Congratulations to your niece Jackie and I too love the name.

Been busy this morning with breakfast, working out, washed the car and some shopping at Target. DH just left for a bike ride with a friend. He hates going this late and when it's getting hot but he and this friend haven't been able to hook up until now and he wanted to ride with him. I hope they have fun. I think I'll take advantage of the alone time and take a nap Sleep

I'm in the doctors, waiting for the doctor to come in. The nurse left the allergy shots in here, which does not thrill me. I'm tempted to walk across the room and cover them with the paper. She seemed to have no clue what went on last week after I had the shots. It seemed like they would have done that first, then the doctor would have came in, but she didn't want to do it until the doctor came in. I assume that means we're waiting on the word from the doctor on what I should get.

Sorry! I will do my very best not to gush about the new schedule. Smile

Karen - aren't you going to Cancun soon? Are any of those storms brewing a reason for concern for you?

Gush all you want, Cathy!  I would be too if I was semi retired.  :)

I see that Phyllis Diller has died. I guess I didn't know she was still alive. 95 y.o. - holy cow!

We have our doors open today since it is too cool for a/c. Our windows don't open. There has been a fly buzzing around me all day and it's really irritating. I hate flies.

The doctor didn't seem to know exactly why I had that brief near death experience last week after the shots, or actually, he didn't know why that would have resolved itself. At least they didn't think I was just nuts. It was a different guy I've never seen. I had to explain that I am pretty scared of needles, and have panicked after the fact, but this wasn't what happens if I'm panicking. They just treated it as though it was a reaction, and I'm back to a lower dose. I've also got new medicine, which I hope will be the cure to my constantly congested ear (it's always congested, and occasionally clears for a few minutes). So far, there has been no explanation for that either.

It's not good to start a week feeling more tired than you did on Friday, but such is my Monday.   My mother and another old family friend arrive tomorrow, so I spent the weekend cleaning house and getting things ready.  Our guest room is usually in decent shape, but the other "junk room" (as we call it) needed to be cleared out so the bed was accessible.

Of course, that turned into a project . . . finding places to put the junk, etc.  I decided the ancient sheets and ratty quilt had to go, so linen shopping ensued (I scored some super bargains at Marshall's that look really nice, YAY!).  I had to wash the new sheets about 5 times before they smelled normal (they must starch the heck out of them).  I've still got a couple chores to do, but I'll do them at the last minute, since we'll only dirty things up again (thanks, Ruby, for tracking in bark dust everytime you come in and out!).

Janice, we watch the hummingbird battles at our feeder, too.  We say the same thing:  "There are plenty of drinking posts for all of you. Can't you cooperate with each other?!"  They are nasty sometimes --- they dive bomb us when we sit on the patio, especially if we have bright colored clothing on!

Good luck on your surgery tomorrow, Julie!  We'll all have less "sympathy ear pain" when we know you're on the road to full recovery!  Wink

    Oh no!!

One of my first 'union' gigs as a musician was in Louisville, KY on the water front. I nearly passed out when all of a sudden appeared Phyllis singing hahahaha worst voice ever LOL - it was sponsored by a company called Paramount Pickles and we had to wear red and white striped jackets. Don't recall much else - it was a LONG time ago! So RIP Phyllis I laughed with and at you Big Smile

Cathy i am intentionally not paying any attention to storms - the inlaws and DH are causing enough turbulence and we aren't all on the same continent nor peninsula. I soooooooo can't wait to all be at the same resort Ick!

Cathy, please gush about your new schedule so we can all live retirement through you. God knows the rest of us will probably die in our desk chairs because we can't ever afford to retire. no doubt ss will be gone as will medicare/medicade and the stock market by the time I get there :p

The hummingbirds have picked up at my feeders too. They must be getting ready to migrate, if they haven't already started.

The doc said my right ear is still raw and bloody but my left ear looks fine so I am good to go for tomorrows surgery. The good news is that I think my hearing improved by leaps and bounds today. I have no idea why but I am thrilled. I even made an announcement at the end of our meeting today that I heard everything that was said! We all rejoiced ;p (I have been the source of a lot of amusement at work due to my hearing problem). Anyway, hopefully I will have all my hearing back tomorrow! That would be awesome. Of course then I will have no excuse to ignore things I don't want to hear lol (I am kind of guilty of that this past week haha) when I didn't want to be involved in a conversation I would just roll my eyes and say "I can't hear anything" then walk away. I'm going to hell I am sure ;)

Julie, I'm glad your ears seem to be taking a turn for the better.

Welcome, Ireland Rose!  What a lovely name.

I was outside awhile ago and it felt like it was maybe in the low 90s.  It was fantastic!  Now my sister would think I was totally nuts if I told her that because she gets cranky if it's over 72.  Hopefully, there will be no more heat waves this summer.

Cathy, is Army Wives going off the air? Crying They keep saying "only three more episodes until it's all over" instead of three more episodes until the season finale. I was really hoping that one would come back for another season.

If you're going to hell for that, be sure to say "hi" to my husband ;)

I'm glad you're doing better Julie but will be thinking about you tomorrow and hope all goes really well.

Joyce - I'm still holding out hope that Army Wives will return. I love that show and it seems to have so much more to offer. You were the one to mention it to me and I was hooked and I mentioned it to my BFF and she's been hooked ever since. So - thank you for telling me about it.

If you are going to hell for that, I am totally screwed.

Jan - I completely understand the craziness around a schedule change.  If they shift my day by 2 hours it is mayhem around here.  I am glad to here they are switching your hubby's schedule.  It will be nice for you in the long run I am sure.

Crazy day today, but I managed to get my workout in!  Whoo Hoo!  I am working at the office that close to my house tomorrow so my commute will be 10 minutes.  I cannot wait to sleep in an extra 1/2 hour tomorrow!!!!

I think I forgot to mention that I found a place for Riley to take horse riding lessons.  I spoke with the owner last week and she definitely recommends private vs. group or special needs classes.  I couldn't agree more but was cringing waiting for the price - she came back with $20 for a 1/2 hour.  I am surprised she didn't hearing me jumping for joy on the other end!  We go on Sunday to see if she is OK around the horse.  If she is, then we will set up a time/date for her lessons.  Just in case I bought her a pair of riding boots on eBay this week Embarrassed  She can always wear them with jeans/leggings if it doesn't work out.

Karen - I hope the presentation goes better tomorrow.

Jackie - I LOVE THE NAME!!!
