Tired Tuesday talk

Ugh Karen - that would frustrate me to no end. I hope they get their act together.

It is HOT here today. I just opened the outside door for the UPS guy and wowzer, I couldn't believe how warm it is already. Blech!

I was cursing my former boss this morning. A year or so ago, I asked if we could rent a storage unit to keep all the old attendance records and some other stuff. He said it wasn't necessary and showed me how stacking the boxes 3 high on top of the file cabinets would take care of the problem. We found out we can destroy the records from 2007 back and so I'd arranged for a shredding company to come on Thursday. I wasn't sure I could even get all those heavy boxes down but I did and the only damage was one broken fingernail Stick out tongue

Jackie, I don't blame you for having a knotted stomach and sleeping trouble.  I'd have all that and more --- no appetite, no concentration, etc.  Very encouraging news about the specialist's Purdue background.  Still keeping my fingers crossed that the news is as positive as possible for Twister.

Hope the 2pm meeting with the soon-to-be-former-crazy-boss-lady went well, Barb!  Also on the job front, good luck with your new post, Lisa.  I'm sure there will be a period of transition, but being a small fish in a big pond isn't too bad, especially if the comp/benefits are great.  And Karen, I hope this new client prospect doesn't give you the run-around much longer.  That kind of stuff is so frustrating!

As much as I hate the winter/rainy climate here, I have to admit that I do appreciate the cool summer nights for sleeping.  We still have the regular comforter on our bed -- it's in the 50's at night.  With the windows open, it's pretty darn chilly first thing in the morning!

I'm going to see "Jersey Boys" tonight with a couple friends.  I'm not looking forward to the long drive (or how exhausted I'll be tomorrow from getting to bed after midnight), but I know we'll enjoy the show.  Hoping to avoid some traffic and get there early enough to try a restaurant I've heard about for ages.  Should be a fun night!

I wouldn't be putting up with it but the $$ is excellent and although I am not motivated by money it is enough to endure 20 weeks or so of a nightmare.

    Keep sending Jackie vibes

Been gone for a few days while we went camping for my birthday.  Thanks for the kind thoughts about Mayday - she went into cardiac arrest on Friday and, as her mom put it, saved her the agony of having to put her down.  I'm having a tough time thinking about my friend who is so stoic and tough and classy and knowing this is tearing her apart because of what Mayday means to her.

I haven't caught up enough to see what's going on but I did read hopeful stuff about Twister!  SOO good!  Need to focus on the positivity there - that it was caught and is getting treatment that he's responding to.  Good care and good positive wishes for Twister and Jackie.

Been catching up a little on the Olympics since I've been gone, too.  That Ryan Lochte is one hot guy!!

So, have I missed the pictures from Belize?  How many more days are they there?

Hope everyone's week is improving.  Kinda don't want to go back to work tomorrow.  Ok, REAALLY don't want to go back to work tomorrow!

Persistence and patience always wins.  May be frustrating...but in the end could be a very good thing.  Keep at it.

Talk with Crazy Boss lady took place.  It went exceptionally well; and she understood.  She was disappointed, but she understood.  She told me I was the best thing that ever happened to her.  Big Smile  True that, but all good things must come to an end.  Thank goodness for me.

I'll still support her until we find a replacement, so its not done yet....but I see that huge light at the end of the tunnel, and its a beautiful sight.

    Any Twister news yet?

    Any Twister news yet?

I was just jumping back on before leaving work to check on Twister news also.

Paige, glad you got to take a short break, hugs to Mayday's human mom

Hi all! Just trying to catch up. Twister has cancer?! Ugh! I totally missed that. did this come out of the surgery he just had?

    Paige, sorry about mayday :(

Lisa, i haven't been to kings island in forever! I didn't even know it was still open. Have fun and good luck with the job switch.

We are all on our way home. I am currently sitting in atlanta and will be home late tonight. Heather should be home already and candace and janice have flights spread over 2 days so they won't be home until tomorrow.

I am looking forward to getting caught up on the olympics. We only caught glimpses here and there and most of the time the broadcasts were in spanish.

I have water stuck in my ears and no matter what I have tried (suction, steam, warm water, alcohol, peroxide, sudafed, a blow dryer, jumping up and down, etc) it just refuses to come out. I am on the edge of miserable and off balance because of it. I will have to see if I can get into the docs tomorrow. I don't want to end up with an infection.

I hope everyone else is doing well!

Ginger?  I'm glad you didn't have doubts.  It's been a very long time since I've done a presentation for an ad agency and I was a tiny bit nervous.

Julie, Debrox might help.  The water could have seeped down under a chunk and not be able to find its way out.

I've been dealing with poison ivy in varying stages over multiple limbs for a month.  Ivarest is immediate relief!  Too bad it's so messy!  Hope you get some relief soon...

I just got home from my parents place, watching some of the Olympics which I already knew the results of.  Just avoiding one reality for another.  Alarm is set for 6:20am again.  Tongue Tied

    Thinking of Jackie & Twister.
