I'm taking Luke to Gettysburg for 5 minutes on Friday night so he can do single dog racing. I can't believe I am going to drive 6 hours round trip for 5 minutes. Luke needs to get out and practice though, so we're doing it. I hope there's at least something good to eat along the way.
Oh cool! When/where is it? Is that something that is open to the public to watch? Gettysburg is only about 30 min from us, and I've never seen more than just a flyball demo, would be need to watch an actual race. Plus getting to say hi and meet you and Luke would be pretty cool too...
ETA: I got my ears pierced w/ 16 gauge silver hoops (thicker that a normal earring but not ridiculous) so I have always have a pair in. Only problem is that I need a special tool to change them, which DH has, but that's just too much effort.
We'd love to meet up with a fellow i-dogger. It would certainly make all that driving more worthwhile for me. Friday is practice time and single dog racing. It's for dogs who aren't quite ready to race on teams yet, and otherwise need a bit more practice. If you want to see tournament racing, that is on Saturday and Sunday. I can't really afford to take off of work and stick around when my dogs aren't racing, so I'm only coming on Friday. If you want to see tournament racing, go for a bit on Saturday or Sunday (but also come meet us on Friday night). Luke is almost ready to race. If he catches the ball on Friday, I'll probably sign him up for a tournament soon. Callie is not quite ready for single dog racing. I might bring Callie along just to get her into the building and get her used to the commotion, but I don't think I'm bringing her that far for that. Anyway... I guess I should get around to answering your question. It's at the AllStar Events Complex. The racing is from 6:30-8:30. I don't know what time Luke will be going in right now. I have to sign him up at 6. The time will depend upon what time I or somebody from the team gets in line to sign our dogs up (I don't think he's the only from our team doing single dog racing).
If you are planning to come (or if anyone else ever wants to come see Luke in action) I think he's the only black and tan cavalier in the area. So, if you see a black and tan cavalier, it's probably him. If you are coming, or think you probably will, if you want to send me a PM and give me your number, or I can give you mine, I can try to estimate his time and try to let you know where to find us.
