LOL!  I think with the various critter hunting dogs we all own, we could take care of just about any pest.  I'd hate to be the one who had to haul all these dogs around to their various "jobs".  Can you imagine? lol

Tracy, I do know what you mean about how hard it is to speak up for yourself in a hospital or nursing home situation.  Whether it's a fear of reprisal from the staff or just not wanting to make waves, it's all too common to see people put up with really shoddy treatment.  I could go on and one about the subject but that would be too depressing.

Ginger, I'm sorry you guys are in such a drought situation. Sad I was reading an article yesterday in Texas Monthly about last year's drought.  I had to laugh a little when the author said a drought is a natural disaster but not one that gets much media attention.  As the author said, people don't run down the street yelling "drought!".   I hope you get some rain soon.

Jackie - I forgot to mention that I'm sorry your cousin is dealing with shoddy treatment. I remember one visit to see my dad in a nursing home and they'd just brought him breakfast but no one had seemed to notice or cared that he'd urinated in his bed during the night. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it to my dad and embarass him but we did go let someone know that they needed to get it cleaned up ASAP. I was flying back home that day and I left with a heavy heart. Crying

I almost felt like I was getting caught up and then I went and picked up mail. Tongue Tied

I found a playlist I created on Pandora though and it's cheering me up Music

Monday morning came way too fast.  Wasn't it Friday just a couple of hours ago?Tongue Tied

Tina, DS #1 got his nose pierced when he was about 16.  It didn't last long.  He wanted me to help him get the earring back on and I told him no way was I going to reach up his nose to put the back on an earring for him.  If he couldn't manage that himself, he could lose the earring. Ick!

I have an interesting little plant growing in a pot in the back yard.  My neighbor gave it to me from a cutting of hers.  She got hers from a cousin in GA and hers has grown into a tree in her side yard.  I have no idea what this little plant is - it has pretty pointed leaves that look like splayed fingers.  It's probably something that shouldn't even be in CA for all I know.  It will be interesting to see how it develops.

I like most piercings.  I used to have my eyebrow pierced (took it out; not appropriate for an office job and the hole closed up).  Years ago I pierced my tongue (yes there were a week of lisping lol but then I talked normal and very few people noticed it - can't stand those folks who constantly play with the piercing!).  I ended up ripping that piercing while eating a sandwich, so that ended that!  I wish I could do the nose, but with the amount I sneeze, no thanks =P  I miss my eyebrow though.  At this point, I feel too old and my job does require me to be out in the field meeting with potential clients from time to time.

Today has been a bear of day.  It ended up with me breaking down crying in the office (my natural inclination is to cry whether happy, sad, angry, or frustrated - so I'm surprised I hadn't cried up until now).  Tomorrow isn't looking much better ugh.  We're terribly short staffed and to bring new folks on board takes time given the amount of background checks and training that much be done before they can work.  I hate the fact I'm such a crier though.  Always have been...

Joyce, I think we must be distant relatives. Smile

My DS had it put right in the center, where you'd imagine a caveman putting a bone, not in a nostril. The reach won't be far, but he can handle that alone. I don't even want to think about the mess it will be when he is suffering from a bout of allergies or chronic bronchitis. There are other things I would rather spend $35 on. Hmm

Bwahahaha!  They say fashion comes and goes and then comes back again.  Guess that's true of more than just clothing. hehehehehe

Sharon, I'm sorry things are so crappy at your work right now.  I cry easily too and it's so upsetting to me that I cry even more because I'm crying when I shouldn't.

It used to take a lot to make me cry but lately I puddle up easily, especially over sentimental stuff. I was going to wash a favorite blanket of Sassy's finally the other day and I ended up crying my eyes out and setting it aside.

It looks like central Florida is now the target for Betty. I hope it fizzles out before it gets there.

On piercings, I can't do earrings (allergies to almost everything) but I got my tongue done when I was 19. I waited 10 years to get it done. I'm 27 this year and still have it. Many people don't even realize that I have a barbell in my tongue unless I stick my tongue out at someone. Heck, I've even worked jobs where the policy is no piercing but never had to remove it. I don't play with it really and my speech is fine. *shrugs* Why I wanted it, I have no idea. But I made sure that it was something I really wanted and not some passing fad. .Which is why I waited the 10 years.

So I have lived 56 years without a pedicure, now in the last 2 months I have had 2.  The shop is right around the corner and can be done in a lunch hour.Wink How can you not??? besides they have these awesome massage chairs.

Did I mention that I am feeling rather old today?   My Grandson is 18 today.  He is such a sweetie, cant wait to call him this evening.

    Happy Birthday Landon!

HI!!!  Things are going great with Riley.  Today was kind of crazy at work.  The fireworks are downtown so we had to get "get out of Dodge" by noon.  Those crazy people were out with their lawn chairs by the time I got to the office.  I had so much to catch up on so I got there at 5 this morning and I am starting to get really sleepy with so much left to do with being out Friday last week.

Received EXCELLENT news regarding Riley's bloodwork - everything normal and she tested negative on this one measure regarding her eye sight which is HUGE.  No more eye tests every 6 weeks  - we are back to every 6 months!  Whoo Hoo!

We were definitely getting cabin fever here this weekend.  The weather was awesome and with each minute she sat vegging on the couch my guilt level was increasing ten fold.  But like a switch she is back to old self with no pain in her knee.  We won't know the results of the procedure (if it worked) until September.  Before then I have to get her this orthopedic place and get her measured for shoe lifts.  She is supposed to wear shoes at all times going forward - we have already broken that rule about 100x - it will take some getting used to since we are barefoot people here.

The HEAT broke, like Julie said, which is nice - windows and door wall are wide open!  Whoo Hoo!  My AC is sighing in relief!

    Take care everyone!

That is very, very good news!!!!

I am sure you'll get used to shoes all the time, even though barefoot is so much more comfortable! (I've been having to wear something on my feet because of the plantar fasciitis and its making me crazy but it hurts if I don't so I understand being barefoot people Wink)

The mulch mountain arrived - I moved 21 wheelbarrows full tonight and I swear that isn't even a quarter of it Sad

Glad to see Riley is okay.

I went to Hershey Park today, and now I'm home, and exhausted. I need to stay up a bit later though.

I've only ever had earrings. I'm allergic to most stuff, so never again. One time, when I was little, the hole started to close with the earring in my ear. My mom must of put the earring in that morning, and when she went to take it out at night or something, she couldn't get it out of my ear. I don't remember what happened, but between my mom and my friend's mom, they got it out. I tried again when I was older, and that time it got infected.
