When Dante was a pup someone decided to get his tail docked (no, NOT me!). The person who did it obviously didn't know what they were doing! They chopped off his ENTIRE tail! He doesn't even have a nub to wag. When they did it they also managed to damage his anal sphincter. As a result he has a hard time controlling his bowels. When he has to go he has to go NOW! He is such a good boy though, he NEVER messes in the house, he makes it very clear that he needs to go out. When he is done going potty, he usually has a mess on his behind. Now, I am not complaining because he is the BEST dog with impeccable manners and I wouldn't trade him for the world. His little problem just requires a few extra seconds out of my day and a steady supply of baby wipes
] I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this happening before? I've had Rottie and Rottie mixes my whole life I just LOVE them and I have never seen a dog with this problem before.
My husband and I have been browsing Petfinder looking for an older Rottie who needs a forever home and I was just wondering if this is more common than I think in dogs with docked tails. I wouldn't mind another dog who has the same problem, it's merely a slight inconvenience, I am just curious!
Thanks!
