I work for a university as well, and now that I'm vested, they put in 12% of my salary as long as I pitch in 8%.  Same as Liesje, the salaries aren't great but benny's are pretty good (esp since I took classes and got my Masters for something like $5,000 total out of pocket... most of which was in taxes).  DH works for a different university and he gets 8% with no required contribution from us, but he does anyway.  Their salaries are a bit higher though, probably to account for that loss of 4% LOL.

I suppose if my biggest concern is what to do with my "extra" money, I should be happy, right? Smile
