I ordered the "ginger tummy" online from [linkhttp://www.b-naturals.com]www.b-naturals.com[/link]

Hope it helps, I also keep the air going full blast (usually I freeze) because I myself get carsick if it is too hot.  Also, I let the dog out to run around a bit when I stop. And no food.

I've had some success with Gingersnaps (the cookies).  I've also heard that jelly beans also help but I've never tried them.  What about covering his crate?  Some dogs do better when they can't see out of their crates.

Ugh! My older dog got car sick too until about 8-9 months but finally out grew it.  My vet gave me some hollistic motion sickness medicine that was also for humans too but I'd ask your vet first... Also, one thing I noticed was Sam was actually okay on long distance drives --- It was those short rides that made him so sick.

My Maltese was so scared of being in the car that she would howl, squeal, cry and push herself into the seat, I found that just ignoring her noises eventually stopped her, if you make a big deal of it they think there is something to be scared of. I would just take her for short drives to get her used to the car. It took a long time to get her somfortable in the car, she is now 2yrs old and now sits on the seat and as long as she can see me she is ok. She has never actually thrown up in the car so I guess its not car sickness. I can guess how your dog feels, because I do get car sickness, I find that if I sit in the front and always look out the window its not too bad, maybe you could sit your dog up higher on a booster seat and put him in a harness so he can feel secure and look out the window. Just a thought. Good luck.

Of our 2 Norwich terriers, the older one who is 2.5 yrs. has always gotten car sick.  He doesn't seem to be particularly high strung or nervous and always gets into the car happily.  But - 20 minutes into the trip he vomits.  The only times he has not is when he is super tired.  So, you know the old saying, "A tired dog is a good dog."  You may try taking your pup for a long - really long - walk before you leave.  The other advice that I have gotten, other than holistic remedies (which I have tried with no, or worse success)  is that he will grow out of it...  Good luck.

    hi dominique,

Sometimes when a dog gets overheated it does this. my doxie Rosey used to get car sick when she was young. we still always take a towel along just in case. Ever since Rosey discovered the air conditioning she just sticks her nose right in there and is perfectly fine!
