Just need to complain! (Make me feel better!)

Poor sweet pea Lady. Good job for taking care of her. [:)] She'll be in tip-top shape in no time.

Could what you saw in the stool be because they gave her a dewormer?  It has been awhile, but I seem to recall that it does make the worms come out.

You are a very wonderful person to make this dog a part of your family.  You shall be rewarded!

By the way,  I also adopted my bc from a rescue.  She was bald from the neck down to her tail because of a flea infestation, so I was told.  Severely neglected.  I thought that I was going to possibly have to put suntan lotion, for dogs of course, or something on her because they told me that her hair folicles could have been permanently damaged, never again growing hair.  (We would at least need a cover up, LOL!)   With good nutrition and help from the vet, her hair has come back long, (well, maybe medium), and flowing.
She also had an infection after the spaying they had done.  They didn't notice that.  Poor girl!

Obviously all that happened because you needed a blessing in you life.  Try not to dwell on the bad things in the past; the dogs sure don't.  Enjoy today.

Thanks so much for all the kind words, as usual. I do know (from her humane society records) that they gave her some kind of dewormer in the shelter, so yes, maybe it is just the infestation working its way through. No idea why, but even though it seemed like our anti-flea campaign wasn't being effective, in the last couple days I've noticed a marked decrease in signs of fleas on her (i.e. flea "dirt", etc.) So maybe we are winning the war...and now it's almost been long enough for the vet to give her the good stuff for fleas as well, so hopefully she'll get some today.

The trainer also comes to our house tomorrow to give us some pointers on what we should be doing with her (she could really use some more confidence!) so I'm excited about that. Things are definitely looking up for her, and I am so glad we got to bring her home. She's making a lot more noise since she first got home, which is a good sign because before she was almost eerily quiet - I actually heard her bark at a dog yesterday! She also gives us these long howl/groan/yodels when we first come home after work - like she's telling us a story, it's hilarious. We had friends over yesterday and she was the star of the show! [:D
