Marley and Me

I loved the book.  The way it was written was just so heartfelt and reminded me of my own Labrador cyclone.  My dad, one who usually doesn't get emotional, was actually teary eyed.  He had to give Akasha a huge hug after he read it.

I gave it to my dad first to judge his reaction,  I hear him laugh...good...silence, frowns, comes over gives Romeo a kiss and tells him what a wonderful and quite boy he is, he goes back to reading, silence I see tears in his eyes...as he was nearing the end, I heard sobs and this from a 66 yr old man.  I am going to make it my labor day book.

This too funny- the same discussion just came up this morning on the Elkhound list I'm on.  Everybody I know that's read it says it's a great book.  I haven't read it yet.  I've wanted to, but put off buying it.  I think a lot of that had to do with knowing we were nearing the end with Mick.  Now I know it's definitely the wrong time to read it.  I will one of these days, tho.
