Northern breed name question!

"Ernie" (the black one's current name) is so stubborn I'd about name him Eek or Grendel . . .[8|]

I did a little searching and I do like Baldor - it's got the sound I'm looking for, and his story is neat.  Vali is Loki's son who was turned into a black wolf.

    Thank you!

Well I'm partial to the Norse Gods Loki and Odin (obviously). When we were looking for dog names, I googled norse dog names and read all about the meanings and then picked our favorites. Let us know what you decide for your two!

Hi All      I've been following the thread with much enthusiasm. There have been many outstanding names, not to mention a history lesson or two. I know your looking for northern names, but I find that Latin also produces some interesting ;possibilities. "Tenebris" is Latin for darkness and "Lux" means light. I think they make somewhat unusual, if not unique names. Seeing as you need 2 names, you could make use of both. Looking forward with anticipation to seeing what you end up naming them.  Best of Luck.

This is way cool.  I'll have to get the vet techs tonight to help me get pics, if they aren't too busy (the boys are getting their physicals right now - the white brother failed his HW btw [:(] and will need treatment).  Everyone at the vet, though, are cracking up about how they are like negative images of each other.

The pictures will help us decide on final names.  I'm still gravitating toward Baldr for the white brother.  He needs some strong vibes now.    Freki, Fenri, Vali - all wolves, which I like, and I'd like to keep the Norse theme since I'm pegging his brother with a Nordic name.  Freki is the only "good guy" - I hate sticking a dog with a "bad" name - though I did it to Loki!  [:D]  Freki sounds a lot like "fraidy" though and I'd like him to get away from that (he's really unsocialized-scared right now).

    Thanks everybody - still thinking!
