Can I just say, Ron, how much I love "hit-and-run chivalry"?  That is a fantastic turn of phrase, not to mention an admirable trait.

Congratulations again, Tyler.  You are an ambassador not only for your own breed, but for all dogs, and an inspiration to everybody.

Way to go Tyler! And Way to go Glenda!

Give that boy some extra belly rubs!

Don't forget to keep to ankle elevated! I have a feeling you knew that already...just a friendly reminder. [:)]

Tyler, Aunt Callie is SO proud of you.  You've been hearing Mom talk about "The Walk" for MONTHS -- of course you absorbed how important it was.  And then you KNEW you were  **maybe** gonna get to go.  Smart boy -- you weren't about to screw it up!!

You raised LOTS of monies for sick folks.  You know ... monies are that paper stuff Mom gives the lady at McDonalds or the drive thru just 'fore they hand you guys the food.  But walkin makes LOTS of monies for special stuff.

"shades of Callie" .... mmmm, maybe not only am I the resident crazy lady but a few folks listen.  Now the people I don't care about -- it's the DOGS I want to listen *grin*.  Just kidding.

Speakin of vocabulary -- today Billy went in to work with me for a few hours.  I missed a lot of work last week and it's not over ... and I told him "you're gonna go with Mom to work for just ONE time!".

We got in the parking lot and I said Yep, this is where I go when I say "I'm going to work".    I got a big "who cares?" look for that.

We went up in the elevator -- super good boy.  The nose went into over-drive.  Went in to our suite -- and our office (we sub-let) is way way way in the back.  I got to my cubby and said "This is where Mom works! -- this is my "go to work" place".

WOW -- he sniffed all over and darned near had his nose explode.  WOW YOU ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE MOM!!!!

Suddenly he 'sat' and looked at me.  I grinned and said "You've got it now huh?  This is WORK.  Every day when I say "go to work" THIS is it!"

Yep-- he got it.  Lightbulb went on -- and then that flicker of that English Cocker spanYELL "Hmmm, I know somethin LUNA doesn't know!! RAH!!"  -- total superior stinker look.  I about fell off my chair trying not to giggle.

Congratulations Glenda and Tyler!  What happy hearts (and sore feets) you must be experiencing when you lay your tired heads upon your pillows tonight!  As you and Ron both said, to have put in some time and energy for a cause you feel very strongly about . . . there's nothing like it.  I only wish I could find a daily (paying) job that made me feel as good as the volunteer and charitable activities I'm connected to!  Then it wouldn't feel like going to WORK each day!

As for feeling the burst of pride about the exemplary behavior Tyler showed everyone, that's just icing on the cake of "feel goodness" today!  I know exactly what you mean about being compelled to really focus on that.  It's awesome because you know how many opportunities he had to let down his guard or be tempted to do something that might not have been OK on the walk, yet he stayed focused and worked so hard to shine all day!  I'd be doing the proud mama dance if I were you, too!!

Glenda, I totally understand how you feel about him understanding you.  I KNOW Kayla understand what I said when I talked to her.  I have many stories of her understanding exactly what I wanted.  Its amazing.

    Good job Tyler!!!!

Good job, Tyler.  Was mom as proper as you were about where she pooped?

I have my moments now and then, usually in private.
