• Lauren B. Posted : 6/20/2006 10:45:21 AM He is a very cute pup! I have a story about rescuing an animal. We were at the Humane Society because my mom wanted to pick out a new kitten for Christmas. Well, at this time there was a Rescued Animals thing going on, so there were some rescued animals up for adoption. I was looking at some of the kittens when I noticed three kittens in a cage. The sign read that they were all family. Their names were Dragonsnap (boy), Lily (girl), and Iris (girl). I looked at Iris, who was the lightest gray one and said, "Mom, I like this one!" So we called over someone to help us and she said, "Well, if you like her that's great! But I think you should know that that kitten has something wrong with her paw." So we looked at it and sure enough the kitten was born with a defect that merged two of her fingers into one and caused to to have a rather deformed paw. Nonetheless I convinced my mom to adopt the kitten anyways, and we renamed Iris "Pooky", and she's still here today. • B L Stroud Posted : 6/21/2006 9:53:27 PM update: Foster mom and I finally spoke over the phone today. Have an appt. to meet Skipper next week.  I'm hearing more good things about his personality that just sounds so right for me and my girl Jessie (my husky) Seems some stupid person shot him with a pellet/bb gun (gee how could that have happened? [:@]) and the pellet has been encapsulated by the bone and tissue in his knee joint, so removing it would cause far more problems than solved. I don't see this as making him "damaged goods" though.
