Mending my broken Heart

I'm sorry for your loss. From what I know of MC clubs, they are not totally above the law. The west coast chapters of Hell's Angels were raided a few years ago and they are the second biggest club. The Honda group is actually the biggest and they are legitimate. Anyway, several things can happen. The state police and FBI can get into it, especially if the club is racking up RICO (organized crime) violations. Also, if it's like some clubs, the guy's GF will eventually do something stupid to the club. And they will take care of her, and it will be as bad as what happened to your ducks, and the cops won't be able to help her, as they are ineffectual now. In fact, they won't be able to find her. It sounds like the guy is trying to be neighborly and keep a low profile and his GF is not helping. It's possible that the local police are on the gang's payroll. Then, you would have to go to the state police to report a gang that has a local police department either terrified or paid off, since you couldn't get a response to something such as loss of livestock due to his pets.

We're hoping you get through this.

So sorry about the loss of your duckies.  My heart goes out to you.  The lightening strike is bad but at least your house is still standing!

Since you seem to be on good terms with the neighbor I would hand him a bill listing damages and ask him to keep a shorter leash on his crazy b**ch GF!  Let him know you think she did it on purpose to get him home - maybe he will get rid of her sooner and see her for the liability she is...especially if he is into anything illegal.

First, I started to cry for you and your ducks.  You're mourning 18 lives all at once - you have a right to be devastated for a while.  Take comfort in your dog and family members who understand.  Sharing your grief will take some of the burden out of it.

    Second, I'm with Ron...
the guy's GF will eventually do something stupid to the club. And they will take care of her, and it will be as bad as what happened to your ducks, and the cops won't be able to help her, as they are ineffectual now.

And until that happens, maybe SHE will be struck by lightning!  (Sorry, I'm an eye-for-an-eye sort of person when it comes to animals!)

So sorry, Angel.  Breathe, in and out, and hold onto the good images/memories.  Let the rest go.  Sometimes devastating things happen to make way for unimaginable things to come... May you have many blessings in the near future.

I don't take pride in knowing such things as I stated before. I would just as soon have the police handle it but they seemed to be too scared. I was raised with a biker motto. God forgives, the brotherhood doesn't. As for a club taking care of problems, sometimes it's just a matter of a timely butt-kicking and not always taken to the drastic extreme. I was once friends with the Banshees MC and a young guest thought he needed to prove how bad he was to fit in. He finished his bottle of whiskey and broke it and tried to start a fight with my friend. The chapter president approached the guy and informed him that he would finish whatever the the punk wanted to start but in public was not the time or place. The next day, the club member who had invited him caught up with him and gave him a butt-kicking that he didn't forget.

The neighbor will have to make a choice between his club and the GF. She's causing more trouble for him than the club.
