Internet work - Work from home - need advice

Okay - I have a question for anyone that reads this and hopefully you will reply .....

I am a stay at home mom (trying to raise my kids and all my animals) but I need to help out with some extra cash coming into the home.

So I am looking for a job that I can possibly do at home and from the internet.  Everything I am reading - sounds like a scam or they want the $$$ before they will send you anything.

Has anyone found anyplace on the internet that is not a scam that is in need of a hard working person???

I would like to report alot of these places to the BBB but I know nothing will probably get done.  So if anyone can help me and point me in the right direction - please respond or PM me.

    I thank you in advance!!!

Be careful, most of that stuff really is a scam, websites that charge money to make money use fake lists to sell you so really be wary.  I am in the same boat, and if I find something I will share with you the details.  Also, DO NOT advertise on the internet that you are interested in working from home on your computer.  You will be flooded with thousands of garbage offers, scams, spams, special offers to part you from your money, etc. I learned this the hard way, every creep in the world has e-mailed me.   I'll get back in a day or so with a couple of leads for you.   Jules

You might want to look into medical billing and coding.   I know there's some training involved (you can do the courses online), but a woman I know does this from home and likes it a lot.

Thanks for the advise.  Please if you hear of something - please let me know!!!

Inne - If you can ask your friend where she went to get the information on doing that line of work - it would be greatly appreciated ....

    Thanks again !!!!![:D]

There was a recent news story here about what the salary would be for working Mom's...think it was about $85K per annum! Be nice if I could find someone to pay me! lol...being a SAHM I bet I'm worth twice that!

My friend done a course for medical transcriptionist  and was able to do the work at home.
Some of my friends at daycare are able to bring their kids to work if they are the agegroup they are working for or can be put in another group but still get an employee discount for having the child there. Make enough to cover that expense and actually make enough to get ahead.
May just be at my workplace but I thought that may be an idea to make some extra money as well.
Just be careful and go with something to be proven where you know for sure you will get paid.
I know we don't get paid being stay-at-home mom's. I was one for 17 years before I went back to work but all that time you spend with them is worth it and will pay off even thou it's not in money.( I am sure you already know that..[:)])
Wish you well and hope you find something soon.

Anything AT ALL that tells you you have to send them money for your start up kit or supplies is a scam. NEVER send any money to a company telling you they will pay you $xxx to do something simple. I learnt the hard way. I sent away for coupon clipping and still have not got a package. I contacted the BBB and they told me what it was and sent me a list of recent complaints. I think the only way to make money from your computer is to take some courses while you are at home with your kids and then once they are in school, use the education to get a job.

Anything asking for money DON"T DO IT.

lots of jobs nowadays allow people to telecommute. My job mostly involves writing and number-crunching and I work from home several days a week. What skills do you have?

I am a stay at home mom and I'll tell you that I've tried various things and have found that I "earn" the most money by managing the household tightly and homeschooling versus putting the kids in private school.  I have training as a teacher, a research and technical writer, an html programmer, and now as a dog trainer - but none of these careers has brought in as much money to the household as planning the budget carefully, bargain shopping, cooking at home (for dogs AND people), raising some of our food - plus adding a little to our actual cash flow with dog training or contract work, when it does not detract from these primary functions.

Otherwise, as someone who has dabbled in several different home businesses - if you don't have an "in" with someone offering contract work, your best bet is to go the entrepreneurial route or work with a sales from home company.

Figure out how to market what you are best at - contact the SBA in your area.  There's a good many programs aimed at helping women and minority entrepeneurs (I am both, LOL).

Never invest household money until you are sure you can lose it, and never give money to anyone who promises you a "business in a box."  There's plenty of organizations that you can get involved in that don't require money and give you lots of help getting started - Tupperware, Mary Kay, Amway, Avon, the list goes on.

It takes motivation and organization, but so does running a household, right?  [:)]

Avoid Amway, though. It's actually considered a cult by cult awareness groups across the country. Folks don't make money with Amway, instead, Amway makes money because they require "dealers" to use all Amway products. My brother did this and I can tell you, it's very creepy. They were required to go to huge meetings where people chanted stuff together for hours, weren't allowed to go to the bathroom, were bombarded with propaganda. And they have their own version of a pyramid going on that they keep just *this* shy of the rule of law. They are continually under investigation. And yeah, my brother and his wife were stuck in it for quite a while.

Thanks everyone for your advice.  I have found NOTHING to do from home so I am now going out and putting out applications.  I have to get a job.  I have even posted my horse on the internet to sell.  I told my husband that if I have to work nights and one place then days at the next - then I will have to do it.  He is not happy but I am tired of the bills coming in and I cant pay them off.  So - I will go to work to pay these bills off.  Even if I found a job I can work at night, I can still be here for my kids.  They are not happy with me looking for a job but I told them I have too.  They are very understanding.  I am not into SCAMMING people so that is one option that I will not consider nor will I spend my money and send the money to them.  I just wish there were HONEST people out there that need some help doing work at home.  Honest day pay for and honest day of work!!!!  If people arent scamming you they are sueing you!!!!

Thanks to everyone that wrote me.  Keep your fingers crossed for me - heading out to put some more apps in.  Again in anyone knows of any HONEST INTERNET work - please let me know.  I am going to miss my kids...... thanks.

depending on what type of training you have and who you know... i know a few people that make a living doing autocad work for hire. this is especially true if you have some knowledge of how to make architectural drawings. i knew a few people in the atlanta area that made quite a good living doing this.

while it isnt technically internet work, it is work that you can do from home. i have done it as a little side work, but i dont have enough contacts to make a living doing it (at least not yet).

good luck with your job search.

If you know what to buy, and you have the money to put up to do it, you can make some money selling stuff on ebay.My dad and I have done this with Beanie Babies, Neopets, Harness Racing Programs, and Computers. Fad toy items usually sell well, but you have to know when to stop buying, or you'll end up with a bunch of extras. But, if you know what every kid is begging for, and you can get your hands on some, you can make a decent profit on it. I honestly know nothing about Harness Racing Progams. Most of the times my dad would just write the descriptions for me, and I would photograph them, list them, and take care of everything else. The computers you really need more money to put out up front in order to do. We usually buy things with no operating system, put one on, and resell them. For whatever reason, this seems to work out well. I don't do it anymore, but my dad still does. The most recently i've done any was earlier this year. I sold a laptop I wanted to get rid of that cost me $700 a year earlier for $550.
