my computer is beyond quirky these days.  I really need to replace it but I can't afford to replace all the software.........

at the moment I can't send pictures via Picasa which I have been using for a million years to send pics - not today though

Had a fun talk with a great friend tonight - always warms the heart!

Somebody pass the 2x4. I need to use it on myself. While Bev was in surgery, Dr. B said that he should probably put a drain tube in since muscles were cut, & the surgery site had a deep pocket. I essentially begged him not to put it in because I didn't want to deal with the mess & hassle of drain tube. He reluctantly agreed under the conditions that I would hot pack it to help control swelling, & that he could re-check it while he was visiting his daughter this weekend.

This morning, Bev's incision site was HUGE, & leaking. It was so swollen that the sutures were hidden in the swelling. When Dr. B saw it, he drained as much as he could so that Bev was more comfortable, & said that he was going to have to have a drain put in. Bev went back with Dr. B, & has already had another surgery to re-open the incision site, place the drain tube, & then sew everything back up. He's staying with Dr. B for now. If everything looks ok, I will drive down on Wednesday to pick him up. Even if it doesn't look great, I'm driving down to see my boy.

I feel like crap about the entire situation. I cannot believe that I put my comfort ahead of what was in Bev's best interest. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

On an upnote, DH & the boys got back today. The house has been so quiet for the past week. It's nice to have noise again.

Good thoughts to Hot, Bevo and Pirate!!

This weekend the kdis were wild! Just a lot of arguing amongst themselves and fighting with me on various things.  Very frustrating.  And both seemed hyper but I am not sure why- maybe the last 2 nights being late nights tey are just that hyper overtired?

And I am SO ready, beyond ready!! For dh to come home.  34 days to go!  Can't wait. Seems like they are going sooooo slowwwwwly.

Then comes the great race to pack a truck, find a place and get moved in all the way to CA.  We've been looking at houses for rent there, and are getting hassled about the dogs- c'mon, really! The kids cause far more damage than the dogs ever have.  Still, it's kinda my fault. Had I stuck to having 2 dogs, we could get into base housing.  The housing rep hinted that if we had just 2 dogs she coudl help us (wink wink sortof tone in her voice), but I HATE lying, especially since it's not uncommon for me to walk all 3 or have all 3 in the front yard with me for everyone to see.  Plus in those housing communities you get the bored wives who love nothing more than to tattle on others.  BTDT.

The dogs stink! We've been outside a lot, walked down by the river on Friday and I am frustrated since Lexi is a big bichon that I can never quite get her head to look right. Can't believe she'll be 11 in may.

That's all from my house tonight.

I still have puppy fever.  Leo, BMD, mixed golden/lab fuzzy, porty, any would do!  But I must must wait until we get to MD in 3 years. :(

Bev/Amanda... you learned for our benefit.  Gracie's going to have to get some lumps removed - and I'm fearful of the whole thing so I keep putting it off, since she's ok right now.  But I will do the drain if the vet reco's it, now, because of your experience.

Hugs for Hot & his momma, Pirate & his momma, et al.  Hope the week ahead is better than the one behind.

Hey, did you know..... when microwave popcorn gets overcooked and scorches the interior of your microwave.... you can use nail polish remover to lift the yellow/tan scorch marks!  I learned that today.  Zip it!
