yep yep...the period/menstrual connotation on the word does not make me any more inclined to like the dress LOL. I am built long and sorta lean (I am getting plumper by the day it seems)...and I still feel like it's too much. Too billowy, too long, too apt to get caught up in my knees or such...I just don't like them. Rather wear a sundress that hits right above the knee.

Well when you are as short as I am....  4'11 1/2 most any dress or skirt I buy that is to be "just" below the knee ends up being a maxi dress!!!   When I was younger I would definately wear a dress several inches above the knee but I have found in the last few years I am less likely to wear shorts skirts and shorts....I really prefer to wear loose lightweight clothes in the summer!    Oh and by the way I dont wear capri's either cause they look like short slacks instead of capris, lol!!!!

How wee tiny you are! Lovely I am sure Smile

I have had a love hate affair with my height all my life. I wish I was a smidge taller OR shorter...I am right on the cusp of tall but not really, average height but not really. It's the ambiguity I hate LOL!! I am 5' 7".

LOL!  I am taller than my granny was.  She was 4'10"...her mom was 4'8" and her dad was 4'9.

Ok - so you guys were right.  The dress was more than a little loud on me.  Not only did I look like a walking salad  . . . .my @ss looked like it could be its own country with each cheek full of pygmy salad eaters fighting over who should be King  . . . Roquefort or Catalina.

I would post pictures but don't want to be responsible for anyone having to gouge their eyes out.

ROTFLMAO!!!!!  You do have a way with words, Deb, thanks for giving me a laugh!

Sooo I guess it's back to the drawing board?

Darn, I'm sorry it didn't work out. It does sound like something that would draw more attention to you than to the bride, but for all the wrong reasons. :)

OMG!!!  I was drinking coffee when I read this.  My poor nose hairs will never be the same!

Yeah, unfortunately.  I think I'm going to go with a nice skirt and top.  I just do better in seperates.  In a dress, if I get one to fit the boobs, my waist and @ss look huge.  If I get one to fit the waist, I can't get it over the boobs.  While shopping with Kate over the weekend, I saw that Nordstroms had some really nice stuff out for spring/summer.  I didn't look at anything closely, but maybe I'll go back this weekend and check it out further.

    Ranch shall conquer all!!

Nice one Deb, I will take your word for it tho I DO think pictures would have helped me at least accept your ASSertion more readily. It was nice of you to Lettuce down gently tho!

OMG LOL! I was sitting here at my desk quietly, then burst into laughter, causing the other laywer to give me a strange look lol.

Though I must say, Thousand Islands must come out on top!  :)

Deb, thanks for the visual and making me LOL!  I'm sorry it didn't work out for you, though on the up side, at least you don't need the dress this weekend.  And I don't suppose you mind having another reason to shop.  Wink

I'm 6' 6". My younger brother had reach about 1/2 inch taller than me for a while and then shrunk to 6' 51/2" after an attack of pleurisy (?). My father was 6' 9 ". So, I was the runt of the family, for a while. Our mother was 5' 7" and she was born in 1945, which made her tall for her age, in spite of her case of juvenile RA.

Deb, have you ever looked in Dress Barn or Avenue?  I used to shop in those stores all the time and usually had good luck.
