That was always my guess. Where would the wiry fur come from?

I'd say one parent was Lab/Terrier or Lab/Basset and the other was Terrier or Basset. That's how she got those wiskers! IMO. So Terrier/Lab/Basset. I haven't seen may wire-haird Doxies - ever. The only time I saw one was 3 years ago at an AKC, and that's the only time I've seen on in my area, I'm not sure about your area of NC thou. So, Terrier/Lab/Basset would be my best guess.

My friend's aunt has a wire hair dachsund but he is the only one I know of. There was/is a Basset hound up my street that I think was/is the mom I am not sure though its just my guess. There are couple of labs around, but what kind of Terrier?

JRT and PRT can have wirey hairs. Any sort of Poodle might also give a wirey look/feel. A Schnauzer has wirey fur.

Actually - most of the JRT's and PRT's I've met have 'broken'(smooth with some wirey areas) or completely wirey coats.

Look at those lil legs....those are basset legs all the way! She also looks like a yellow lab. So, Lab/Basset, IMO.

I'd say some combination with basset or dachshund and possibly schnauzer? He does look very labbish, too, though.

It is hard to say, as many breeds carry dwarfism. Is here hair wirey? It is kinda hard to tell for sure. Whatever she is, she sure is cute!

That was my guess, aswell. I have owned a Lab/basset cross before and I dont see much basset in her. That is, unless she is bigger then she looks in the photos. Still a cute little girl, tho.

Her hair is wirey. She is about as tall as Shailers withers maybe a an inch shorter.

I think lab and some terrier or dachshund. I don't really see Basset, and that mix would not account for the wiry hair.

She could have Poodle in the mix - Poodle mixes tend to have wirey hair and dwarfism is not uncommon in the breed.
